My Third Liebster Award!

I feel so honoured to get my third Liebster Award. It’s so nice to know that people are loving what I’m doing, it means a lot. I was nominated by Stressed But Well Dressed. She posts about fashion and beauty products. Go check out her blog! This award is about appreciating and recognise those blogs who don’t have as many followers and to show them some love! As well as bringing us all closer.

So here are the rules..

– You have to link back to the person that nominated you.
– You must answer all 11 questions given to you by the person who nominated you.
– After completing these questions you must nominate 11 bloggers with under 200 followers and give them 11 questions of your choice.
– You must not nominate the person who nominated you.
– You must let your nominees know that they have been nominated and provide a link for them to your post so that they can learn about it.

My questions were..

1). If you could dye your hair a different colour for a day, what would you go for?

Purple has always been my favourite colour so probably a lilac.

2). Would you rather live without lip balm or without mascara?

Lip balm. My eyelashes are quite light so I would just look wrong without it!

3). Lipliner: yay or nay?

Definitely yay! Defines your lipstick if you use the right shade and stops bleeding.

4). What’s the best make-up tip you’ve ever received?

Less is more

5). Would you rather be overdressed or underdressed?

It depends. Nights out these days I’m usually under dressed but not sloppy under dressed just comfortable if that makes sense?

6). The OC, 90210, Gossip Girl or Pretty Little Liars?

So hard between The OC and Gossip girl! But if I had to choose I’d say Gossip girl

7). Is Beyoncé a feminist icon?

In some ways yes. Beyoncé has encouraged young women to be self-empowered, but then again some of her songs make me think not. But are they just songs? I’d like to think she was.

8). If you could live anywhere in the world, and money were no object, where would you pick?

New York. I went there last may and didn’t want to leave.

9). You find £50 on the street. What do you do?

If I couldn’t see who’s it was or anyone looking for it… Go shopping!

10). You’re throwing a fancy dress party. What do you go as?

I’m actually really miserable and hate fancy dress..

11). How do you like your eggs in the morning?

Scrambled on toast!

My 11 nominations!

And now my questions for all you to answer!

Avon Haul

My Avon woman hasn’t been very well lately so I’ve been running out of the stuff I usually get every month. So glad she’s better now though she really is a lovely lady! And I’m also glad to get all these goodies!

Eye Dimensions Eyeshadow

Create unique and captivating eyes with colour that looks as good as it feels.

I’m a bit obsessed with buying Eyeshadow palette at the moment as you could probably tell.. But I like a lot of options! Can’t wait to try this out. I’ve always had good experiences with Avon Eyeshadow. This shade is called Sultry Smoke.

Ultra Colour Matte Lipstick

Get that just stepped off the catwalk look with the latest, on trend lip finish in irresistible shades.

Always love a good lipstick. I’ve stayed clear of the usual reds I buy for a change and went for a Matte Nude. I have too many reds now and they are all starting to look the same.. Full review is available here.

Advanced Techniques Moroccan Argan Oil

Nourishing serum suitable for all hair types and for use on wet or dry hair. Instantshine, smooth finish. Weightless movement and leaves no residue. With Argan Oil andvitamin E.

I’m sure your sick if me banging on about this but you will probably see it in every Avon haul I will do! I did a review of this you can check out here

Advanced Techniques Daily Shine Dry End Serum

Immediately provies up to 100% shinierhair, leaves hair looking healthy and helpssmooth dry damaged hair

I also keep banging on about this too! You will most likely see this in everyone if my Avon hauls.. Check out my review I did on this here

Complete Balance Oil Free Day Mattifier SPF15

Skin looks completey re-balanced, day after day

I have recently ran out if my day dream and thought I would give this a go. It was in the Clerance for £2 which is a bargain!

Avon Naturals Complete Recovery Treatment Mask

Mask with herbal extracts helps to nourish hair, leaving it manageable and conditioned from root to tip

I originally didn’t order this. I ordered the Planet Spa Blissfully Nourishing Hair Mask but they were out of stock.. And why wouldn’t they be.. It’s amazing! *sigh* so I got sent this instead at I think it was £1.25 I can’t remember exactly. It’s only a 125ml tub so they will probably only last be 2 washes. Check out my full review here.

So that’s what I got this month! I’m already excited to see what’s in the next catalogue. Already got a few circled I want to try.

Have you tried any of these before? What did you think? Let me know!

Review: Beauty Blender

I received this in my June Birchbox. I was so excited when I got this because I saw a sneak peak of what was in the Birchboxes and I was hoping I got this. I was so excited to use it. It comes with a cleanser too which is useful because keeping your make up tools is very important.

Bounce Beautyblender against your face when applying make up. Bouncing, called stippling in the make up world, blends make up without creating changes in the texture or tone of your skin. Use Beautyblender’s pointed side for hard-to-reach spots like around the nose and mouth, and under the eyes. Use the round base for foundation and blush on the larger areas of your face such as your forehead, cheeks and chin.

It didn’t take me long from opening my Birchbox to actually using this beauty blender and I can say I wasn’t disappointed. I just don’t know how I’ve been living without this. I haven’t picked up my brushes since using this! It is a little pricey for a sponge but it is totally worth it. The pointy end is amazing for getting in those hard to reach places like around your nose and under your eyes. The larger side of the sponge is great for your checks and forehead and chin. When I’ve brought cheap sponges before they have fallen apart and don’t blend as well. You can feel the quality in this. My foundation has never looked so flawless. It does use a bit more foundation than I usually would use with my brushes or fingers on lazy days, but it’s totally worth it.

Althoguh it’s just a sponge and it’s £16 I still think it’s totally worth it. You just need to bite the bullet and get one! I gave up on my No7 Beautifully Matte foundation because I couldn’t get the right coverage with it, I always looked so cakey. But with this thing I’ve picked it back up! I have a feeling it will last a long time and I should hope so for the price. But when I do need a new one I will certainly be getting a new one!

Did you get this in your June Birchbox? What did you think? Let me know!

Review: Healine Colors Nail Polish

Headline Colors is a trend led nail brand that launches a select 5 shades each micro-season. It confuses me though that it’s a UK company but it spells colour the American way? Bit confusing.. Anyway.. I’m really obsessed with this colour. It’s a gorgeous aqua blue. It’s called Poolside Party. Such a suitable colour for summer! And a suitable name! This is the first Headline Colors polish I’ve had and it isn’t going to be the last!

The finish of this Polish is really glossy and it stays glossy too! This Polish is so pigmented it’s amazing. It’s fully covered in just one coat, but i always apply two or three for a fuller colour. It applies so beautifully and doesn’t streak. When I saw a streak on a nail I was annoyed but then it disappeared. It lasted a couple of days before it started to chip which is good for me. It dries quickly too even though I out three coats on.

Overall, I’m in love! I’m loving alot of nail polishes at the moment and I’m gathering up quite a few favourites but id rather be doing that then spending my money on more Avon polishes. I would like to try there gel range but I’ve had bad experiences with Avon polishes. At £9 a pop I think it’s worth it. I’d rather spend a bit more on a polish that’s gonna last and look good then buy a few cheap ones that  just don’t do the job.

Review: Dead Sea Mud Spa

An extraordinary cleansing experience featuring the benefits of Dead Sea Mud, Dead Sea Salt, seaweed and kelp in a formulation infused into bamboo fabric masks. This allows optimal absorption and maximum cleansing while featuring 99% natural ingredients.

I received this in my June You Beauty Discovery Box. I have seen these before in most drug stores and used them quite a lot when I was a kid so it was a nice little reminder of this product.

Remove make up and cleanse skin. Remove and unfold mask. Lean back, relax and put the mask on face, patting it down for maximum contact. Leave to work for 10-15 minutes to cool & calm your skin. Remove. Gently massage in any excess liquid. Splash face with cold water, pat dry.

The one thing I love a out this face mask is that you don’t have to wash it off your face. That’s one thing that really annoys me about masks. You just lay the mask on top of your face and it leaves hardly anything on your face to scrub off. The one thing that annoyed me is the shape cut out for your nose, eyes and mouth. It didn’t really fit right and took me ages to get comfortable on my face, plus it only covered one half of my nose.. Strange. Anyway.. The good parts! It’s soothing, smells good, relaxing and the coolness on the face after a hot day was really refreshing.

For the price it’s very good. A nice little treat to pick up while shopping. I looked on the Boots website and they have them for £1.49 which seems pretty standard. Like I mentioned before, the size for the face didn’t really suit me well but it might for others. Can’t fault the outcome of using this though. I would definitely buy another.

Have you tried this face mask before? What did you think? Let me know!

Review: So Susan Cosmetics Concealer Quad

I received this in my June Glossybox. I’d never heard of this make before, but that’s the whole point in glossybox, trying out new brands. This Concealer Quad has four different shades that can be mixed together to create a match for your skin tone.

I usually use concealers under my eyes as I don’t tend to have many spots these days. I found using this i really had to work hard get the coverage i wanted, where as the stick cover ups i use its so much easier. It’s very light weight which is good for these hotter days, but the texture is also really dry which isn’t that good for me. It didn’t last that long too, and I found when I tried to reapply, it doesn’t work well when I have set my foundation because the formula is so dry it doesn’t mix well.
I was really disappointed with this I must say. If you have dry skin then this is your worst enemy. Makes your dry skin stand out a mile away. Although if you have oily skin this would be good for you. I just hated how much hard work it was to get a decent colour out of it. I wouldn’t mind it taking so long if it stayed put a big chunk of the day but it really doesn’t. Just a couple of hours till I had to reapply and that was a nightmare too. All in all, I wouldn’t purchase this.

Did you receive this in your June Glossybox? What did you think? Let me know!

Review: Lush H’suan Wen Hua

Full of protein-rich, nourishing ingredients to revive your hair and improve its condition. Free-range eggs are full of protein and have been used for centuries to help strengthen the hair. Fresh bananas and avocados, which are both rich in oils, deeply moisturise and soften the hair. We believe good hair starts at your roots, so we’ve added bay leaf infusion and cinnamon leaf oil to stimulate the scalp.

I brought this out of the blue while passing Lush. I’ve never really brought Lush treatment products so thought this would be a good time to start! After having a browse I picked up this. I did a review on my first impressions of this product here.

Massage a generous amount into dry hair and leave for 20 minutes before shampooing and conditioning

My hair is usually in bad condition from bleaching and straightening if I don’t use products to maintain it. I have alot of problems with split ends and my hair breaking off. I sectioned my hair so I knew I covered as much hair as possible. It was easy to apply which was nice but it was rather messy doing it! I left it on for about an hour before washing off. It was easy to wash out which is nice because there is nothing I hate more then trying to get stuff out of your hair, like bleach! After shampooing and conditioning I whipped my hair up in a turban and moisturised. I noticed when drying my hair, it died much quicker then usual. My hair usually retains water and it’s a nightmare to dry but it seemed to dry quicker now. My hair didn’t feel weight down from using this which is what I find with some treatments. It was so easy to brush too after washing, which is always good because no one wants to be lugging out clumps of hair! I could not stop touching my hair when it was dry. I had to stop myself because my hair would go greasy the more I touched it. I told my friends at work I was using it and they kept touching my hair when I came in! After a couple of days my hair started to get a little dry which I was a bit disappointed with, but after washing again it felt silky smooth.

At £9.50 for 225g it’s a bit expensive. If you have short hair you only need to use half a tub, but if you have thick long hair like me you will end the whole tub which can be expensive. The woman in the shop advised it be used once a week for 6 weeks if your hair is in really bad condition. I’m thinking of maybe using it once every 2 to 3 weeks and see how I get on. There are much cheaper options on the high street, but if you love natural ingredients and fair trade product and knowing none of these products are being tested on animals then lush is your shop. You also get a free fresh mask when you being back 5 of there tubs into store!

Have you tried this product? Have you tried any other lush hair treatments? Let me know!
