Sanctuary Spa White Lily & Damask Rose Body Lotion Review

I recieved this in my September You Beauty Discovery Box. I love Sanctuary Spa products so I was happy to see this on the list of items to order.

If you’re feeling a little tired after a long tough day, wrap your weary body in lashings of comforting floral moisture.

Infused with a blend of shea butter & rose extracts, slather over your limbs to help soothe your senses. Skin is left feeling beautifully soft, smooth & delicately scented.

Drift away to a field of florals for a perfectly nourishing escape.

The one thing I like about this is that the scent isn’t too in your face. It’s beautifully floral. It’s quite suttle but noticeable. It soaked into your skin beautifully because it’s so light, which is what i need in the morning because I never leave myself enough time to get ready for work! Nothing worse then having to wait for your lotion to dry! It’s not greasy at all which I find alot with body lotions. My skin is left moderately soft, but I think other moisturisers have left my skin feeling softer.

To be honest, everything ticks the boxes for me. The scent, how well it soaks in, non greasy.. it’s just not as moisturising as other procure I’ve used since. Which is a shame because I love the smell! It’s an everyday scent. Would I buy this again? Probably not. I got the last one as a gift so that’s probably why I liked it then because I didn’t pay for it! But if it was going to be my own money I’d prefer something more moisturising.

Do you love Sanctuary Spa? What’s your favourite product by them? Any other body lotion you love? Let me know!

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Review

Hello beauties! So I’ve been using this primer for quite some time now, and I though you to myself, why haven’t I done a review on this yet? Well now it’s here!

Maybelline Baby Skin provides a matte finish and leaves the skin fresh, soft and protected. The gel texture in Baby Skin instantly helps to vanish pores and makes the skin feel light. It avoids a shine on the skin and makes the skin feel soft. Bye bye pores!

Apply alone or under make-up. Take a small amount of Baby Skin Pore Eraser on your finger tips and apply evenly to the required face area. If applying makeup, wait until Baby Skin Pore Eraser is set.

This is a clear primer which leaves your skin silky smooth ready for your make up. It’s lasted me around 2 months now,  and it’s still going. It’s not the best primer I have used, but it’s cracking for a drugstore primer. It doesn’t do much for my fine lines, but it keeps my make up in place. Although it is a pore primer, I think the benefits POREfessional does a better job at hiding my pores, but it’s not bad. Is it me, or is the name of the primer just a bit creepy though? Baby Skin? Really? It might be just me but I think it sounds wrong.

Would I buy this again? Probably not. Not that’s it’s not a great primer, It is. But I’m always on the prowl for the next best thing, and I haven’t found one better then the POREfessional primer yet. I have a couple from my beauty swap to try out too and one I brought in my Revolution Haul.

What’s your favourite primer? Have you tried this one? What did you think? Let me know!

What’s In My Handbag Try: 111 Skin Y Theorem Repair Serum

Hello beauties! This isn’t so much a review but to let everyone know about What’s In My Handbag sample offers! So a while  ago, I posted about What’s In My Handbag and how they send out free samples of items they feature. I haven’t been lucky enough yet, but yesterday I got an email telling me I’d be receiving the 111 Skin repair serum sample! I got home and it was waiting for me, that was quick!

About the product
This repair serum is the original product created by Dr Alexandrides that inspired the 111SKIN range. The repair serum significantly boosts collagen production, supports cells regeneration and improves the elasticity of the skin. The result is Instant hydration, effective volume enhancement, and a reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Although it’s only 2 X 1.5ml samples, serums can go a long way, so I’m excited to try it out! But then again, it takes from 7-14 days for a skincare product to show any benefits so I don’t see how im going to see any benefits from this sample. A full size 30ml bottle will set you back £190 though, so I can see why you only get sent this much… But it’s nice to try out a high end product like this! I don’t see how it gonna justify buying the full priced bottle though!

It’s well worth signing up for What’s In My Handbag Try’s, I read alot about people never recieving stuff but this is proof you do! You just have to do it properly, alot of people probably just enter to recieve it but don’t add it to their wish list on WIMH. Check out my post here about how to get involved!

And the winner is…..

So as most of you know I have been doing a Benefit Cosmetic Giveaway to celebrate reaching 200 followers. So I’ve put everyone’s name into a randomizer and I can now reveal the winner is….

Congratulations! I’ll contact you shortly to sort out everything… But now I am going to bed!

Thank you to everyone who entered. I’ve loved hearing from you all and hope to make some good friends out of my new followers 🙂

How I battled my dry eyes problem.

Hello beauties! So I’ve had some trouble with dry eyes for a couple of weeks now. It got me really down because my foundation would just look awful an hour into it being on! It was like crepe-papery, not very attractive! The thing that annoyed me was, when I didn’t have foundation on, I couldn’t see any dryness under my eyes. Just when I had foundation on. Even when I touched my skin it didn’t feel dry.

Nothing would fix it.. When I put consealer on, it would just make it worse. I tried a different primer, different foundation, not using powder to set my make up around my eyes, a different cream, mixing cream with my foundation, different brushes, sponges.. Nothing seemed to work! I take good care of my skin and I moisture well.

Like all of us do when we’re in trouble… I ask a search engine for help! So after reading a couple of forums, I found some great tips that i would like to share with you, and that have definitely worked for me.

I felt like my normal eye creams I was using just weren’t moisturizing enough to battle the problem I was having, and I was kinda sick of buying all these products that just weren’t delivering. What I started to do about an hour before going to bed was put a warm cloth over my face to open my pores, and dab Extra Virgin Olive Oil under my eyes. It’s important to use extra virgin olive oil because it has the highest nutritional value because it has undergone the least amount of processing. I left that for 15 minutes to soak into my skin and then gently rubbed it in. What ever was left I massaged into my entire face. Extra virgin olive oil is loaded with nutrition and antioxidants like vitamins A and E. The same qualities and benefits you experience on the inside can benefit your skin.

After two nights of doing this I noticed a massive different in how my make up was looking during the day. Not nearly as dry as before. It takes your skin up to 7 – 14 days for a product to take any effect, so I was determined to carry on. After a week of doing this, the dryness under my eyes have completely gone. My makeup is back to looking flawless. No more running  to the mirror at work to check if my eyes were drying up again! I’ve also noticed that the lines under my eyes don’t look as bad anymore too. Maybe it’s because the dryness was making them look worse, but there is definite improvement.

I’ve also tried using extra virgin olive oil with sea salt and using it as an exfoliators once a week for a pick me up. All you do is mix extra virgin olive oil and sea salt together. Massage this exfoliator into the areas of your face affected by dryness and scaliness. It works to get rid of the old, dry skin, revealing new, younger skin underneath.

I’m going to continue with this because it’s the only thing that’s worked for me! I highly recommend anyone that’s going through dry under eyes to do this. It’s the best thing I ever did!

Glossybox September First Impressions

Hello beauties! So I received my box a few days ago, but work has really took it out of me this week I’ve been so tried! Hope I’m not getting I’ll again. Anyway, this month’s box is a Karen Miller themed box!

Model Co More Brows Fibre Gel

This innovative brush on fibre gel gives the appearance of fuller, thicker Brows instantly

I’ve never tried a gel based brow definer personally. I’ve always been a pencil girl myself but maybe this will be the bridge into my new found love for gel? Maybe.. This is a full size 3.5ml tube worth £14.95. I ended up giving this to a friend because it was way too dark for me.

L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil

This lightweight pip cards for and pampers all hair types.

I’ve been wanting to try this out because it’s gotten rave reviews. I’m pretty dedicated to my Avon Advanced Techniques Morocco Argan Oil, but it wouldn’t hurt to try this! This is a 45ml sample worth around £8

Skin Pep Enzyme & Acid Peel and Peeling Gel

Peeling Gel: this highly effective peeling  gel uses Pineapple and Papaya extracts to create gently exfoliated, soft and bright skin.

I got two samples of this. I’ve never heard of this brand before, but I guess this is what glossybox is about! The ‘Acid Peel’ in the title of this product kinda scares me..The sachets are both 3.5ml worth £3.05 full review is available here.

Eye Cream: this powerful dark circles eraser used anti oxidant ingredients to boost collagen in the delicate undereye area

This is a 2ml sample of this eye cream, I don’t think it’s really enough to see an actual difference to be honest. It takes a product up to 7-14 days to make any actual difference. I’ll give it a go obviously.. But I hate it when they send such small samples of products that promise big. This 2ml sample is worth £6.49

Nails Inc Westminster Bridge Matte Top Coat

This matte effect top coat gives toy two very different looks for every one of your nail polishes. The perfect way to add a ubiquitous twist to your favourite shades.

I was so glad to see this polish. I’ve been wanting to try a matte top coat for ages. This is a 10ml bottle worth £12

Kiss Haute Couture Lashes

Kiss Haute Couture’s natural looking strip lashes are lightweight and Wear comfortably into the night. The enclosed applicator is curved with a side grip allowing for full view of last, masking application amazingly easy.

I consider myself a bit of an expert when it comes to fake lashes.. I used to wear them everyday for like a year. But don’t do that girls, it really messes up your lashes! I’m really excited to try these out because I hardly wear them anymore. These lashes are worth £4.99.

Overall I’m happy with this month’s box. Everything will get used which can be the down side of these boxes. The contents of this box is worth just under £50 which is amazing, with a promise from glossybox that every box would be over £44. With the box just costing £13.95 it’s great value. My last box wasn’t that impressive at just over £30 when they promised every box would be over £33. They’re excuse was the sample sizes were totaled up as full size with the value which is stupid I think if you’re not getting a full sized item. I think they have learnt from there mistakes from the last box.

If you’re interested in subscribing to glossybox if you could use my referal link I get 200 glossybox points for every referal!

What did you think of your glossybox this month? What’s your favourite product? Let me know!

Philip Kingsley Elasticized Review

I received this in my August Glossybox. I recently did a posted about Elasticizer because I was curious on how it actually works.

The world’s first pre-shampoo conditioning treatment and our hero product. Healthy hair stretches when wet before returning to its original length when dry. However, hair in poor condition snaps and breaks when stretched. Intensely moisturising Elasticizer delivers a rush of moisture to the hair’s cuticle; suppleness, elasticity and bounce appear instantly without weighing down or coating the hair. Visible results from one application that improve with continued use. Fragrance free. Use once a week as a minimum for best results.

Before shampooing, dampen your hair with warm water and apply Elasticizer to mid lengths and ends, paying particular attention to dry broken areas.
Work into your hair with fingertips, cover with plastic cap and leave for approx 20 minutes
Rinse with water
Follow with appropriate Shampoo, Conditioner and Scalp Toner

PK Tip – For improved results on very dry or damaged hair, dampen hair slightly and leave on overnight
Elasticizer can also be left on for a couple of minutes when in the shower before washing and best results are obtained from using it 1-2 times a week
Please Note – Do NOT use Elasticizer for 2 days before and 2 days after chemical processing

My hair is quite thick, so I only got one use out of this sample. So it’s not like I can do much of a review on it, but to be honest, from the one use I got out of this sample, I have noticed that my hair didn’t fall as much as it usually would after using it. I applied this to my hair while my bath was running so the pores in my hair would open from the steam. I soaked my hair and applied the product. I then put a cap over my head and left it for approximately half an hour. I’m usually left with a mountain of hair behind me after brushing when I’ve washed my hair, but this time I was left with much less. Days after washing, I still noticed less hair falling out. Running my fingers through my hair, I would usually pull out quite a few strands, but it was only the odd strand now.

Would I buy this again? I’ll defiantly consider it. I’d recommend it to anyone that bleaches their hair. I’m definitely considering introducing it into my routine.

What do you think of Elasticizers? Ever used them before? What’s your favourite hair care products at the moment? Let me know!
