Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer Review

Hello beauties! Hope you are doing well. I’ve slowed down lately on the posts because I just haven’t had time, even with having a week off of work! Gonna try and make more time to post regularly again then just every 4 days like it’s been now! I brought this in my Revlon Haul and I’ve been using this primer for about a month now, and this is what I think about it.

Primes and smoothes the skin to create a perfect canvas. Reduces the appearance of pores and fine lines. Evens out skin’s texture. Can be worn alone or under foundation

Primer can be worn alone or under foundation to create a smooth, even canvas. Apply primer after moisturizer and before makeup to fill in fine lines and pores and to prep for foundation application.

Primers are so important for me. I have fine lines, pores and I work full time. So having a primer that can fill my pores and lines, and help it last all day is a big thing for me, and I think for alot of other people. The pump dispenser is really handy and hygienic. You only need one pump to cover your face. I was scared that with how white the primer is, that it would make me look paler then I am, but thankfully it didn’t. It is quite thick, but if you use it sparingly it’s fine. My skin is left with a matte look and silky to the touch. It isn’t a silicon based primer which I find can dry out your skin, this one moisturises my skin as well as leaving it with a matte finish. When applying my foundation, it’s the perfect base. It makes my foundation look flawless.
As for filling my pores and lines, I found that my not so problematic areas it perfected, but where I have issues with pores and lines it only blurred them. I’ve tried the same foundation with this and also without, and it does make it last a couple of hours longer. After those hours though I have noticed slight slips around my nose and on my chin. As well as pores, I suffer from spider veins around my nose which is the main reason for me wearing foundation. I’ve found since wearing this primer, I’ve been wearing alot less foundation to cover this problematic area. I’ve also had one of those horrible under the skin spots on my chin, which we all know makes your skin red. I didn’t even need any cover up on it which I was really surprised at. My skin is both oily and dry and it can be hard to find a primer that suits both. I try to avoid silicon primers now because of the dry areas of my face, which thankfully this isn’t. This moisturises the dryness, without irritating the oily parts of my face.

This primer retails at £11.99. It isn’t perfect, but it really is quite a good primer! You get 27ml of product for you money which has lasted me a while now. The thing I like about this is that it’s perfect for any skin type oily, dry or combination. Would I buy this again? Definitely if I was in a rush and needed to run in and out of the drugstore. But the thing about being a beauty blogger, you always want to try the next product! This primer has definitely made me want to stay away from the silicon primers though.

Have you used this primer? What did you think? Let me know!

Syoss Oil-In-Cream Repair Mask Review

I got this in my beauty swap with Reify. I’ve never used any sort of Keratin product in my hair, so this was a new experience for me.

Instant Keratin Boost for 100% strength & Repair hair structure deep inside the hair cell
Smoothes the hair fiber for 100% suppleness
Nourishes the hair intensively for 100% gloss without weighing

As I don’t speak German, and the bottle was all in German, I kinda winged it! Reify left me a note on the bottle saying it needs to be taken off straight away. So I just soaked my hair and applied it to the ends. I worked it in and washed it off, and then carried on with my shampoo and conditioner.

I’ve been using this for a while now, and even my hair dresser noticed how long my hair had gotten since she had seen me last. I find that my hair never really grows, because it always snaps off. You never notice when your hair grown yourself, but my hair dresser did. My hair does seem more elasticated, when brushing my hair and i get a small knot, it bounces back instead of breaking off. All the claims this product deliver, except I didn’t really see any difference in the glossyness of my hair.

Will I buy this again? I certainly will if I can find it anywhere! I’m really impressed with this. When i saw my hair dresser, the first thing she said to me how my hair has grown more then usual, so that’s enough reason for me to want more!

November Glossybox First Impressions

Hello beauties! So after this month’s Birchbox, I was hoping Glossybox would have something amazing too. This month’s box had another 3 full sized items, which I always love getting!

Lollipops Make Up Eye Pencil

This retractable Pencil provides a deep colour finish with a long lasting results. Contains vitamin E with anti ageing and anti radical action

I’ve actually never heard of this brand before. I love a good Eyeliner but I’m a big fan of gel eyeliners at the moment. Not sure if this is gel, but it’s black so that’s always a good start! And the packaging is amazing! This is a full sized item worth €14

Burts Bees Lip Shine

100% natural, sheer colour enriched with a moisturising apricot wax glides on lips for a sweet and super shiny finish.. So your lips shine as much as your personality.

Everyone’s heard of Burts Bees. I haven’t actually used any of their products, so I’m excited to try it out. This shade is called Smooch and it’s a lovely deep red. This is a full sized 14g tube worth £6.99

H20+ Face Oasis Hydrating Treatment

This oil free moisture gel delivers deep hydration with minimising the appearance of fine lines.

This is another brand I’m not too familiar with. This is perfect for the winter weather with skin prone to drying out. I’m interested in investigating how it will minimise fine lines too. This is a 8g sample, full size is 50ml worth £27.50

MONU Skincare Firming Fiji Facial Oil

A facial oil containing plant oils to nourish and protect whilst firming and toning skin.

I’m a massive fan of MONU Spa Warming Ginger Massage Body Oil, so I was so glad to see yet another MONU product for me to try. I love facial oils, so I’m really excited to try this out. This is a 30ml sample. 100ml is worth £26

Umberto Giannini Tousled Salt Spray

From cool rock chick hair to party glamour, this salt spray gives the perfect lived in texture leaving you with volumised sultry locks!

Salt spray always makes me nervous. My hair is quite dry, so I always assume that adding a product like this will just dry my hair out more. I was curling (well, trying) my hair one day and I swear I had a sample of some salt spray somewhere but I couldn’t find it, hopefully I won’t loose this one by the time I decide to try and curl my hair again! With the size of it though, full size I may add! That might be pretty impossible. This is a full sized 200ml bottle worth £6

So all my full sized items came to £24. So I’ve made my money back from those! The extras are an added bonus! Glossybox are being very consistent with their full sized items lately which is really good to see. But I still think that my Birchbox was better this month!

If you’re interested in subscribing to glossybox if you could use my referal link I get 200 glossybox points for every referal!

What did you get this month? Anything good? Let me know!

November Birchbox First Impressions

Hello beauties! Sorry I haven’t posted for a while, I’ve spent a long weekend in London watching the tennis and doing a bit of shopping! Nothing for myself unfortunately..

I reviewed my Birchbox early last week. This month’s box is inspired by the month of November. The month of fireworks, bonfires, (for us British folk it was bonfire night!) snuggly nights in and generally just wrapping up and staying warm at home. This box was made up so you can have a cosy night in with these specially chosen beauty products.

OPI Turn On The Haute Light Nail Polish

Part of their limited edition Coca Cola collection, this shimmery silver is party perfect.

I was very happy to see this. OPI is a great brand, and it’s a full sized product too worth £11.95! I’ve made most of my money back from just this product. This shade is perfect for Christmas, I’m excited to try it out!

Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle Leave in Conditioner

Hair woes be gone! This wonder spray detangles, minimises frizz, safeguards colour and adds shine.

I love receiving anything to use on my hair. Because I have so much hair, it’s  nightmare when it gets tangled up, and if it safeguards colour and adds shine… And minimises frizz… I think I’m gonna like this! It’s a sample size around 20/25ml (it doesn’t say exactly on the bottle) full size is worth £14 at 236ml.

Lord & Berry Mini Bronzer, Sienna

Super fine, matte, bronzing pigments create a healthy glow for a burst of radiance (without the tell tale shimmer)

I really hate receiving Bronzer products. Being pale I don’t get much use out of them, and I’m not that into fake tan. This will probably be given to a friend.

English Laundry Signature For Her

Inspired by classic country gardens thus charming scent melds rosy floral top notes with hints of musk.

I always lose to get perfume samples. I always seem to stick to the perfume I know so it’s nice to try some I wouldn’t usually try. It’s a lovely musky smell which is lovely for the winter.

Dr. Jart + V7 Turnover Booster

A lightweight gel serum that soothes and moisturises for a superboost of supreme radiance.

This just made my Birchbox! I always moan about receiving tiny tiny samples of skincare products, and look at this! It’s a full sized 50ml bottle worth a wopping £32! Birchbox is really stepping it up lately! So happy with both my full sized items.

Lifestyle – Drinkwel

Not your typical multivitamins, these veggie friendly capsules are loaded with all the good stuff needed to help you recover from a night out in the tiles.

I could have done with these in London to be honest! Maybe I’ll save them for after my works Christmas party!

So that’s my box this month! I’m so happy with it, Birchbox has really gone all out with this one. Just makes me wonder what Glossybox has to offer now! I’m pretty sure it’s not gonna beat this… Reviews will be up soon when I’ve had a chance to use them!

If you’re interested in subscribing to Birchbox, use my referral link and each of our accounts will be credited with £5 to use in the birchbox shop!

What did you get in your Birchbox this month? Let me know!

Benefit It’s Potent! Eye Cream Review

Hello beauties! So I’ve been using this a while now, every morning and every night. I received this in my September Birchbox. I’ve been quite surprised at how long it’s lasted me! But i suppose when your using something on such a small area like your eyes, it’s gonna!

It’s potent! eye cream fades dark circles & helps smooth fine lines for brighter, younger-looking eyes. Contains a peptide complex known to help restore elasticity & firmness, a blend of hydrating botanical extracts including apple extract, known to help boost collagen, & loquat extract, known to help protect the skin from free radical damage.

This is a 3g sample I received, and like i said, it’s lasted me quite a while! I recently had some trouble with the sensitive skin around my eyes. It was looking so dry when I put any foundation on my skin. I had to use extra Virgin Olive Oil to deeply hydrate my skin for a couple of weeks. After that I maintained it with this cream. Let’s start with the packaging. I never really understand when creams are in jars. All plant extracts, vitamins and antioxidants break down once the jar is opened and lets the air in, which leads the ingredients to degrade. Now let’s get into the stuff in the jar. I don’t have particularly sensitive skin. But one of my blogger friends Rachel over at Rachwat said she had a reaction using this. So I decided to investigate what’s actually in this Potent cream. Turns out, this cream is jam packed with film-forming agent. As we all know, film-forming agent can make skin feel smoother and temporarily tighter. It can also make your skin irritated. Irritation can lead to wrinkles, bags and dark circles. Everything this cream claims to reduce! It’s also lacking in anti aging ingredients, it contains more preservative and alcohol then anything to reduce those fine lines. Alot of people have said that they have noticed their skin stinging when they have applied it. This is due to the amount of alcohol in it. On the plus side, it is a cracking moisturiser, despite all the alcohol. Personally I prefer something heavier for the PM to soak into my skin, but it was good for the AM. It kept my dry eyes at bay. It soaks into your skin beautifully, and it works great under your make up. But I’m afraid ladies that it’s just another glorified moisturiser.

Will I be buying the full size jar? I will not be. If it was a bit cheaper I could consider it, but £25 for just a bog standard moisturiser is far too much in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong, I do like this moisturiser, but I just don’t agree with the lack of beneficial ingredients and the over powering of film forming agents which irritate skin.

Have you tried this cream? What did you think? What eye cream are you using at the moment? Let me know!

Hello  beauties! So I was only thinking the other day about my you beauty box, and then it arrives!

I decided to add these to my box this month because to be honest, I have so much make up to get through, I wanted something I would use straight away. I love bath products so it seemed perfect for me.

Skin & Tonic Steam Clean

This simple, organic Cleansing balm is made with British thistle, aromatic eucalyptus and refreshing spearmint oils to lift dort &  rejuvenate dull, tired skin. All Skin &Tonic products are suitable and crafted by hand in London.

I love a good skin care product and I love ones that are organic. This is a 15ml tub which I will get a lot of use our of. It smells amazing too, so minty! I look forward to slapping it on my face!

Extra Treats

Baobab Superfruit Powder

Aduna Baobab is a rich source of vitamin C, nearly 50% fibre and high in antioxidants. Sweet and citrussy, it can be blended into smoothies or sprinkled on cereal, porridge or yoghurt.

I’m not really sure what to think of this to be honest. I’m still not 100% sure what it is, but I’m always open to try new things!

Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm &  Tonic Youth Serum

Introducing the Merumaya dynamic duo that delivers results like you’ve never known. Iconic youth serum and melting Cleansing balm. Meet the dream team that has everyone talking and tweeting.

You all know what I think about tiny samples like these, I don’t see much point in then to be honest. You can’t see a difference in your skin with just one application, so this will probably go into my samples draw.

So that was my picks this month! I’m really looking forward to trying the cleanser and the bath salts, reviews of each item will be our when I’ve had chance to use them! what did you pick for your box?

Avon Planet Spa Heavenly Hydration Hair Mask Review

Hello beauties! I hope you’re all well. So I got this in one of my many Avon Hauls. I usually get the Blissfully Nourishing hair mask, but unfortunately they were out of stock. I can understand why, it’s amazing. I did a review on it here if you want to check it out. So lets get into the product!

Leaves dry, damaged hair feeling soft, silky and smooth

This is a 200ml tub which lasts me around 3-4 washes. My hair is just past my shoulders, so if you have short hair, obviously it will last longer. Sometimes I have problems with hair mask. Having such thick hair, the one thing I look for in any hair products is lightweight. This certainly is. It’s alot like the Blissfully Nourishing mask, except this one doesn’t smell as amazing. It had a Olive oil scent to it. It smells nice, but I’m a big fan of the other one. Bleaching my hair leaves it damaged and dry. But this hair mask makes my hair just as soft. It makes my hair so shiny and alot less frizzy.

Would I buy this again? I wouldn’t be upset if they ran out of the Blissfully Nourishing hair mask and they sent me this one instead, but that one just smells so much nicer! I think if the Heavenly Hydration one smelt better, I’d probably change sides. I love my hair to smell nice, who doesn’t? and people always notice when I’ve used it. The prices of Avons hair masks are amazing and I’ve never been dissaponted with one. This one retails at £5.50 but it’s usually on offer at around £4. Can’t argue with that!

Have you tried any Avon hair masks? What did you think? Any hair masks you recommend? Let me know!
