TRESemme Renewal Hair & Scalp Trio Review

Hello beauties! I hope you’re all well! So I first got exposed to this TRESemme product through my December Glossybox. I got the Nourish & Renew Tonic in my box, and I always had trouble with my dry scalp so I thought I would purchase the shampoo and conditioner to go with it.

Why Use The Renewal Hair & Scalp System? Helps nourish the scalp and renews your hair, leaving it beautiful from start to finish. With tea tree extract and sunflower seed oil, the salon quality formulas help by nourishing the scalp at the surface cellular level. The result is soft, manageable hair and a healthy feeling scalp.

The thing I love about this shampoo is that it lathers up so well. Not too much that I find it hard to actually wash out, but enough that I feel it’s actually doing some good. I’ve been using this for a couple of months now, and I find I can go a few more days then usual between washes. The shampoo is just as creamy as the conditioner which I love. The conditioner is amazing too. I’ve found that I don’t need to use as much oils to keep my hair nourish since using these products. The tonic helps nourish your scalp and is applied to damp hair directly to your scalp. My scalp has never felt so clean and nourished. This shampoo doesn’t state that it’s designed for coloured hair, but my blonde locks don’t look brassy from using this at all, which is always a plus! I still keep up with a blue shampoo every now and again to keep on top of it, but I think I’ve found my perfect shampoo in TRESemme.

Will I be buying this trio again? Definetly! I feel like I use less conditioner then i usually would because the shampoo is just as creamy and leaves my hair quite soft. I hate when your using a shampoo and conditioner set and you run out of conditioner before shampoo. With this I feel like I’m getting my money worth because it stretches quite far, and TRESemme always come in very large bottles which I love because my hair is quite thick and I always run out quickly!

What shampoo are you using at the moment? Have you used this TRESemme shampoo yet? Let me know!

NOTD: Breakfast At Tiffany’s

Hello beauties! I hope you’re all well. I have a tooth ache at the moment which is highly annoying! Nothing I hate more then a tooth ache, and I always seem to have them, but the dentist says there is nothing wrong with my teeth.. Anyway.. Back to my nails of the day!

I am obsessed with this OPI Turn On The Haute. It’s such an amazing polish for nail art. Again, I’m still enjoying using tape for nail art. It’s just normal sellotape I’m using at the moment cut up, but I have some actual nail art tape that’s a lot thinner that I will be experimenting with soon. The other shade I have is Headline Colours Nail Polish which I absolutely love too. It reminds me of tiffany boxes. It dries so quickly and it’s such a vivid colour. It dries very quickly, and only requires one coat for a completely opaque coverage. The nail art pen is from my Seventeen Nail Clash Collection I got in my Boots Sale Haul. I’m loving these nails at the moment! I’m really enjoying experimenting more. Can anyone recommend some other things to try? Link me to your posts if you have done any cool nail art!

February Glossybox First Impressions

Hello beauties! This month’s box is.. Yeah you guessed it.. The LOVE box. It comes with four full sized products including an Eyeshadow inspired by what’s sure to be the sexiest film of the year Fifty Shades of Grey.

Wilkinson Sword Hydro Silk

With a water activated bar of moisturising serum infused with marine extracts and shea butter, this razor hydrates skin for up to 2 hours after shaving and the five blades leave legs super soft

I’m kind of attached to my other Wilkinson Sword razor at the moment. I currently have the Intuition razor that you don’t need shaving foam for, so it may take me some time to try this one out. This is a full sized item worth £9.99

MARSK Mineral Eyeshadow – Fifty Shades

With a colour palette inspired by that film, this mineral power based Eyeshadow is 100% natural and highly pigmented so it packs a punch.

I’m not the biggest fan of loose Eyeshadow. I hate the fallout that they leave and they are much harder to control. But at least it’s in a colour I would use. This is a full sized 1.2g product worth £14.49.. Seemed alot for a pot of loose Eyeshadow…

Royal Apothic Tinties

We discovered this quirky brand in Los Angeles. Inspired by an old apothecary manual, it’s now a celebrity favourite with Victoria Beckham rumored to be a fan.

Lip products are so welcome in this weather. With the heating on at work, my lips get so dry so I always have something in my pocket handy. Such a lovely shade of pink too. It can also be used over lipstick for moisture and shine. The packaging is so lovely, the jar makes it feel expensive! This is a full sized 3.4g item worth $14

So Susan Rose Quartet Lip & Cheek Palette

Pretty pinks or bold crimson, this versatile palette has a match for either mood.

I haven’t had the best if luck with So Susan palettes. I got sent one of their concealer quads and I really didn’t like it but this is a different product so I will keep an open mind when using! I probably won’t use it as a cheek stain as, you probably know, I prefer powder. This is a full sized 4g item worth £8.

B. Cosmetics Defined Brow Kit

As well as Brow defining shades, this kit includes a highlighter to enhance the brow arch, brow was to make brows beefier and a brow setting gel for a pro finish.

Ive recently got into B. Cosmetics so I’m glad they have been added to the Glossybox collection. Again, I’m more of a pencil girl myself.. And some of the colours are way to dark for me. I might give it a try and if it is too dark give it to a friend. I’m not sure if it’s a full sized item, but it looks it. This is worth £9.99.

So that’s my box for this month! Most of the items will get use, and the rest can just be donated to willing friends if not! Most of the items were stated to be full size, but I think they all were, or the last two were pretty close to it! Which is what i love about Glossybox.

February You Beauty Discovery Box First Impressions

Hello beauties! With the hotly anticipated BAFTAs and Oscars both held this month, coinciding beautifully with valentines day, February’s red carpet theme is inspired by the glitz and glamour that accompanies awards season. As such, their shortlist has been carefully complied to ensure all products are extra indulgent and truly red carpet worthy.

Each of the brands featured in their February red carpet edit are dedicated to upholding true beauty, inside and out. Their products are honest and hark working but truly luxurious. In short, these are the nominations for the beat performers within each category.

Age Defy + 24 Hour Brightening Moisturiser

A revolutionary moisturiser with actives to deliver intense skin hydration and reduce age spots, fine lines and wrinkles. Enriched with 33 beauty enhancing actives for a youthful you, this product has an organic aroma infused with Palmarosa, Rosalina, Rose Geranium, Lavender and Red Mandarin. Reduces hyperpigmentation, increases hydration and cell metabolism, stimulates collagen synthesis and reduces wrinkles.

The first thing I noticed when trying a little on my hand is the lovely aroma this moisturiser gives off. Secondly it’s quite thick which, but it soaks into your skin very quickly which i was glad to see. This is a 10ml sample which will get alot of use out of. Full size is 30ml, so considering the actual full size item is a very good sample size. Full size is worth £34.95

Proto-Col Moisturising Facial Gel

A luxury, daily, moisturising get with a blend of the highest quality ingredients to hydrate your skin to leave if feeling soft, smooth and supple. Containing plant derived collagen to nourish skin and pump fine lines and wrinkles, fresh royal Jelly to help regenerate skin cells and keep skin looking glowing and healthy, and hydrolysed silk to improve moisture balance, suppleness and elasticity.

Yes I picked two skincare products.. But the other items didn’t really grab me so I chose this one too. This is a thinner gel based product which again skins into your skin very quickly. It’s hasn’t got as Potent of auroma then the previous moisturiser, but sometimes that’s a good thing. All these added scents can cause irritation. It’s not greasy at all which is what I always look for in a face product, but also not too drying. This is a 20ml sample, again very good sample size. This size is worth £9.50 which is more then the cost of the whole box which is excellent value. The larger 50ml sample is worth £21.95.

Extra Treats

bareMinerals Bare Skin Brightening Serum Foundation

The first ever mineral foundation and skin serum in one from bareMinerals. This ultra thin, skin Perfecting fluid provides seamless adjustable coverage, a natural finish and the look and feel of beautiful skin. Supercharged Lilac plant stem cell and vitamin c help to reveal brighter, more even looking skin tone.

Lindlt Milk Truffles

The original and most famous Lindor chocolate truffle. A perfectly round chocolate she’ll made if the finest Lindlt milk chocolate with an irresistibly smooth melting filing. For a guaranteed blissful moment to yourself everytime.

Unfortunately the shade of foundation looks a little too dark for me. But the chocolates are a welcomed addition! I actually ate them watching my new favourite TV show Scandal and they are certainly Heavenly!

So overall I’m happy this month’s box! There are some great sample sizes and great value for money. Unfortunately I may he swapping this box for another box. I feel like I need to see what else is out there, and I’m too attached to my Birchbox, and everytime I think about canceling my Glossybox they always say that the next box is gonna be good, and sometimes it is! I think also the sample sizes can be quite good in Glossybox so that’s one main reason I keep them around. If you know if any great beauty subscription boxes I should check out let me know!

NOTD: Dennis the Menace

Hello beauties! I hope you all had a lovely valentines day. Me? I was at home with my boyfriend, Netflix! Currently obsessed with a TV show Scandal. It’s a political drama and it’s amazing. So if your after something to watch, I recommend that!

So I’ve been experimenting with tape. I decided to use C&E Rough Sublime for the base and Ciaté Unrestricted Glam for the top. In a past NOTD I used this Ciaté and said that it wasn’t very opaque, but I wanted a black and red for my nails. I had to apply two coats to get the black opaque, but unfortunately it left my nails with a ridge. I love the effect of this using the tape, but I just need a better black so I don’t have such noticeable ridges. If you know of a black that’s very opaque with one coat let me know! The red is a lovely shade and dries very quickly, so you don’t have to wait too long to apply the tape. It has a very suttle shimmer to it too which is lovely. Overall I really love this design, but the black kinda let’s it down too. I’m gonna be using tape for more designs in my future posts, it makes nail art so much easier!

February Birchbox First Impressions

Hello beauties! I hope you’re all well. So this month’s Birchbox felt quite heavy, which i always love! I know you tend to get more samples with Birchbox, but they have been great lately with their samples sizes!

With it being February, this boxes theme is love! It goes way beyond being limited to one day for valentines day, they’re talking about the things we love the whole month through. This month’s box contains skin saving creams, beautifying hair treatments, and a make up brand that they are very excited about. So lets get to what I received!

London Butterflies Whipped Body Cream

We pay plenty of attention to the skin on our face, but often forget about the rest of our body. Thankfully London Butterflies has exactly what your limbs need. Packed with nourishing ingredients like jasmine, starflower and almond oil, it sinks in quickly to rehydrate the skin and leave it super soft. Plus, the ultra indulgent scent has been specially created to relax both your body and mind.

I’d love to be able to comment on the smell of this, but I can’t smell a thing at the moment with this horrendous cold. However, I’ve tried a little bit on my hand and it soaked into my skin so quickly, I was quite impressed! And it’s a pretty decent size too! It’s a 30ml sample which I will get a few uses out of. The glass jar is very nice and it feels expensive. Full size is 170ml for £37.

TheBalm Cosmetics Stainiac in Beauty Queen

This two-in-one lip and cheek stain gives us a natural, understated flush and helps us get out the door faster! The gel formula looks dark in the tube but delivers a sheer tint. The tinted gel leaves a lasting stain on lips and cheeks. Since it’s water-based, it has a longer setting time than most quick-dry stains, which means it won’t leave any unsightly streaks behind as long as you take care to blend well. Use a single coat for a subtle look or layer it on for a more visible (yet still discreet) hue.

I’ve always stayed away from cheek stains. I don’t know why i just don’t like the idea of them. I’m trying to stay away from pinks with my blusher as I feel warmer tones suit me more.. But I’m looking forward to using this as a lip stain! This is a 1.2ml sample. Full size is worth £10 but doesn’t state how big a full size is.

Cynthia Rowley Beauty Eyeliner

Everyone has that forward-looking friend who can push them to take a style leap. We feel that way about fashion designer Cynthia Rowley. Having already proven her mettle as the creator of a high-performance makeup line, she’s breaking new ground with these playful yet stylish liners. These creamy pencils glide on velvety-smooth, and the smudge-proof formula lasts all day. In on-trend shades like rose gold and shimmery brown, they’re helping us push the beauty envelope—and the results are nothing short of eye-opening.

I’m so glad I got the black Eyeliner and not the silver. I’m not much or an experimenter with coloured eyeliners. I’ve got a stock pile of eyeliners to try out so it’s probably gonna take me a while to get to this one. This one is very creamy which I look for in an Eyeliner. This is a 0.3oz sample and looking on Birchbox website a full size is 0.04oz so not far off full size! Full size is worth £11

Liz Earle Beauty Co Botanical Shine Shampoo

Taking the same approach to hair as she has to skin, Liz Earle Botanical Shine Shampoo can be used on all hair types. Containing over 89% natural ingredients, the shampoo promises to cleanse and nourish hair in the same way as a traditional shampoo without any nasties.

I have only experienced Liz Earle skincare products, so when I found out this was a shampoo, I was immediately interested. If their shampoo is as good as their skincare products, my hair in for a treat. This is a 50ml sample. Full size is 200ml worth £10.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum

A highly concentrated, oil-free serum that improves the appearance of dark spots, promotes even skintone, and boosts radiance. What it is formulated to do: Highly concentrated with naturally powerful Viniferine, this satiny serum reduces the appearance of existing dark spots such as acne marks, scars, and damage revealing a brighter, more even complexion. What it is formulated WITHOUT: – Parabens – Sulfates – Phthalates

I have a few serums to get through but this is the first serum sample I’ve encountered in a tube which surprised me when I read what it was. I used a little on my hand and the only way I can describe it is a watered down moisturiser. Obviously I haven’t tried it properly yet to have a full opinion, but I did notice how quickly it sinked into my skin. This is a 10ml sample. Full size is 30ml worth £45. I think it’s a pretty good size considering full size is 30ml!

Vita Coco Coconut Oil (lifestyle extra)

Vita Coco, the company who first brought us delicious tasting coconut water, now brings to our shores its own brand of 100% Organic Coconut Oil. Cold pressed from Organic coconuts, 100% raw and extra virgin, this new addition to the Vita Coco Family is the perfect cooking oil and goes a long way to rescuing dry skin and hair – that’s why people swear by it!

I do love a good versatile product, but this is a weird one! On the packaging it says Eat it, Wear it, Swear by it. That got me interested! Even with this horrendous cold I can smell the coconuts, I did want to eat it! This is one of the vets lifestyle extras I’ve ever got. I’m so excited to try it out in all of its aspects!

So that’s my February Birchbox! I’m so happy with everything. Everything was a very good sample size and the lifestyle extra made it! I’m gonna get use out of everything which is always a bonus with these beauty subscription boxes. I’m actually looking for another box to subscribe to, so if you have any other suggestions of boxes to try (I already have Glossybox and you beauty  discovery box) let me know!

If you’re interested in subscribing to Birchbox, use my referral link and each of our accounts will be credited with £5 to use in the birchbox shop!

What did you get in this month’s box? Have you tried anything from my box? What did you think? Let me know!

I won the Glossybox love lottery!

Hello beauties! I hope you’re all okay. So if you follow me on instagram or Twitter, you would of found out that I won their love lottery! I always enter these Glossybox competitions and I never win. But this time i did! And I think I got the best item on offer..

I’ve always wanted an Urban Decay palette, so when I found out I had won it, i was over the moon. It’s always been the cost of these palettes that have put me off. It’s so beautiful, I don’t even want to use (I obviously will!) the packaging is so lovely and just feel expensive. I love nude palettes so this is the perfect fit for me. Can’t wait to try it out! I’ll do some Swatches soon and a review, although I’m sure most of you have seen many many before, but I wanna do my own cause I’m so excited!
