March Glossybox First Impressions

Hello beauties! I hope you are all well. Sorry for the late Glossybox post. It was my birthday last week so I haven’t had much time lately to actually write anything up, and with my drafts all being deleted, I had nothing to publish! But I’m scripting it in there just before March ends and April begins. How fast is this year going already huh?

It’s early days, but spring is here! The new season is all about fresh approach. From the colours you choose, to the products you use. That change is reflected in this box, which includes a gentle skin peel from Naobay, a do it all mascara by Essence and the spring lip shade that has become a well deserved Glossybox favourite.

Naobay Moisturising Peel

Facial milk with natural peeling particles from the Acai palm tree. This face peel gently exfoliates the skin, removing surface cells and impurities. It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines by combining Olive oil*, Shea butter* and *Sweet Almond oil* with Gotu Kola extract that soothe the skin after the peel

This is the item they promised us in the last box and I must say i was rather excited to receive it! I love their packaging. The wooden top is just an amazing touch to a yet simple tube. This peel isn’t what you would usually assume a peal is, it’s not of an exfoliator. It was tiny exfoliating beads mixed into a rich cream, and it smells lovely too! I’m nearly out of my exfoliator so this may have to be its replacement! This is a full sized 100ml tube worth £13.71. Pretty much paid for my box!

Essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara

Very royal! The Lash Princess mascara has a specially-shaped cobra-head wand, which covers each individual lash to create dramatic volume and a gorgeous, sweeping look – for intensive fluttering lashes. Just as unique as any princess, the mascara is presented in a bottle that looks like a beautiful evening gown.

I’m familiar with this brand through my Beauty Swap with Reify. This is a German product which is newly available in Wilkinson. The brush looks amazing, I can’t wait to try it out. I just hope it’s smudge proof too! This is a full sized 12ml tube worth £3.30

Dove Advanced Hair Series Youthful Vitality Shampoo & Conditioner

Did you know? As hair ages it loses essential nurtients such as proteins and lipids leaving it feeling coarse, dull and thin.
New Dove Youthful Vitality range helps replenish these*; Infused with a powerful blend of Cysteine rich protein and Elasto-Lipids, it nourishes and redensifies for fuller, more youthful looking hair. Our lightweight formula cleanses hair and creates fuller looking hair. Enjoy soft, shiny hair that is full of vitality with visible fullness.

So I’ve already had a sample of these come through with my You Beauty Discovery Box this month, so I should get some good use out of the two lots of samples.. Especially with how long and thick my hair is! This is a 2X50ml sample size. Full size is 250ml worth £5.99

ncLA Nail Lacquer

We’re a proudly “5 Free” luxury nail lacquer, meaning we are not only 100% free of DBP, toulene, and formaldehyde, but also of camphor and animal testing. Because we love our furry friends and toxins aren’t fashionable.

Love everything about this brand from the free from toxins, to the against animal testing… To the nail of this nail polish… I ONLY FLY PRIVATE! Absolutely love it! And I love this fabulous bright orange nail polish! Can’t wait to give this a go. This is a full sized 15ml item worth £13

Sleek MakeUP Port Paint

Pout Paint is a lip stain like no other! Providing lips with intense colour and a long-lasting finish, it’s the perfect product when you demand more colour. Pout Paint is made to be mixed, so the possibilities are endless.
Provides full coverage that is light weight
Non-sticky and extremely buildable

I’ve looked at these in the drugstores because and always wanted to try then out, but always feared I wouldn’t like them because they are too sticky.. Even though it claims to be non sticky, and I’m not a very big fan of the application. Thankfully, it isn’t sticky. However when I first used it, it came out clear which was a bit annoying, and it seems very hard to control on your slips which could be messy. But this is my first impression so I’ll get around to using it properly soon. This is a full sized 8ml tube worth £4.99

This is my favourite box of this month. It’s got everything. Make up, skincare, haircare and nail varnish. I love it when they cover a good broad spectrum of products, and they are all good brands too! From just the full sized products, my box is worth £35! How good is that! Glossybox have been very good lately with value for money.

If you’re interested in subscribing to glossybox if you could use my referal link I get 200 glossybox points for every referal!

March Birchbox First Impressions

Hello beauties! I have you are all well. It feels like spring is just around the corner with this beautiful weather we have been having (or in the Midlands anyway!) so I’m still playing catchup with my beauty subscriptions so this one is a little later then usual so I do apologise.. But better late than never!

This month Birchbox partnered with lifestyle and homeware gurus, Habitat for our DO Try This At Home theme. Spring is here and it’s the perfect time for a little renovation, whether that means shaking up your beauty routine, starting a DIY project or restyling your living space.

Serenity Skincare Dead Sea Bath Salts

Serenity dead sea salt is imported from the lowest point on earth in Jordan. The salts are 100% natural and chemical free, and also have not been tested on animals. Serenity is formulated to restore the natural balance of moisture to the skin in return giving the skin the vital minerals the body requires. The therapeutic benefits of serenity salts are: treating eczema, arthritis, skin infections, dry skin, psoriasis, joint pain, relieving muscle tension or for simply relaxing and enjoying a rejuvenating experience.

I love bath Salts. They are such a simple thing that can make your bath feel that more luxurious. These can also be used as an exfoliator for your skin while in the bath. It doesn’t say how big the sample bag is, but it’s quite big. 1kg bag is £7.50 which I think is really good!

Catherine Malandrino Style De Paris

This scent from fashion designer Catherine Malandrino hits all the right notes with a playful yet sophisticated oriental fragrance mixed with fun fruits. Like her renowned, sought-after designs, it’s the perfect blend of chic Parisian style and the infectious energy of New York City.

I’m actually in the market for a new perfume. I’ve recently given up smoking, so I have some spare cash on me. It will be 2 weeks when posting this that I gave up, so I thought I would treat myself. This smells absolutely amazing, so I will be considering this when making my choice!

TanOrganic Self Tanning Oil

Excellent Facial and Body Tan with ultra moisturising ingredients, voted the best Facial Tan in 2013 by RSVP magazine. TanOrganic Self-Tanning Oil gives a visibly luxurious tan that lasts up to 4 days after application. It ensures unrivalled ease of application and optimal moisturising with no oily effect. Its citrus scent leaves a delicate, fresh fragrance with a unique moisturising action. This Self Tanning Oil is the perfect tan for those who lust after a natural looking tan all year round.

So this is gonna be pretty pointless for me as I’m pale and kinda like it that way! I wish there was an option to opt out of Tanning products on these beauty subscriptions. Full size is 100ml at £24.99

Benefit Roller Lashes

It’s a roller for lashes! The eye-opening Hook ‘n’ Roll™ brush grabs, separates, lifts and curls…while the instant curve-setting formula holds for 12 hours.

I’ve had my eye on this product ever since it came out! I’ve had a number of emails from benefit telling me about it, but I have so many mascaras to get though at the moment, I wanted to dwindle my collection before investing. But I must admit, I’m glad I’ve been sent a sample to try out… Because as soon as I got it I tried it and I love it! It separates my lashes and extends then to a lovely length. I’m sure I’ll be doing a review of this fully soon!

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer

The world’s first pre-shampoo conditioning treatment and our hero product. Healthy hair stretches when wet before returning to its original length when dry.
However hair in poor condition snaps and breaks when stretched. Intensely moisturising Elasticizer delivers a rush of moisture to the hair’s cuticle; suppleness, elasticity and bounce appear instantly without weighing down or coating the hair. Visible results from one application that improve with continued use. Fragrance free. Use once a week as a minimum for best results.

I’ve had many samples of this through my beauty subscription. Even though I’ve tried it before, it’s always a welcomed item! I did a review of this item here you can check out!

So overall I am pretty happy about my box, except for the tanning product obviously! But it makes up for it to get to try out the new benefit mascara! I’ve recently unsubscribed from You Beauty, so if you have any recommendations of any beauty boxes I could try out.. Let me know in the comments!

What did you think of your March box? What did you recieve? Have you tried any of these products? Let me know!

March You Beauty Discovery Box First Impressions

Hello beauties! So this is actually my last You Beauty Discovery Box…and how good is it? Almost makes me want to re-register… But I really want to see what else is out there. I really want to give up Birchbox and Glossybox.. But their boxes are amazing sometimes and I can’t bring myself to unsubscribe!

This box is a Best of British edit featuring home grown brands. The extra Treats in this box are just amazing too…and yummy! So lets get onto what i received…

Styl London Instant Gel Nail Wraps

The latest patented technology in nail wraps, designed to achieve a salon effect gel manicure within minutes. Just peel and stick! No drying time and non toxic!

I love anything to do with nails so when I saw this I had to have it. I’ve had nail wraps before, but not gel wraps so I’m very interested in how they differ. This is a full priced item worth £6.99 which is pretty much the cost of the box, or not far off!

Good Things Manuka Honey Radiance Face Mask

Good Things Manuka Honey Radiance Face Mask brightens and refreshes with White Clay & Beeswax. Developed by award-winning beauty writer Alice Hart-Davis using her years of expertise in the beauty industry, this Manuka Honey Radiance Face Mask enhances the skin’s natural glow.

Face mask are something my skin needs! My skin tend to look dull on occasion so this face mask will be a great addition! These are available at Boots and Sainsbury at the moment. Sample size is 15ml. Full size is 100ml worth £5.99 which is great value! And awesome that they are in supermarkets and drugstores.

Extra Treats

Dove Advanced Hair Series Youthful Vitality Shampoo & Conditioner

New Dove Youthful Vitality range helps replenish these; Infused with a powerful blend of Cysteine rich protein and Elasto-Lipids, it nourishes and redensifies for fuller, more youthful looking hair. Our lightweight conditioner nourishes hair and brings back softness, fullness and shine to your hair. Enjoy soft, shiny hair that is full of vitality with visible fullness.

These are awesome extras! I love trying out different shampoos and have actually never tried Dove shampoo before. It’s a pretty generous sample at 50ml for both the shampoo and conditioner. Full size is 250ml at £5.99 each.

Nakd Cocoa Orange Bar

Nakd Cocoa Orange bar is one of our most popular bars – delicious, satisfying and refreshingly natural – its awesome chocolate-orange flavour is a favourite with the Nakd community. Imagine a sweet, zesty orange and a sprinkling of rich cocoa and you’ll have some idea of what we mean. The most surprising thing about this bar is that there are no sugars or sticky syrups added to enhance its taste – what you get instead is a yummy combination of fruit and nuts, gently smooshed together into a handy bar shaped snack.

I’ve actually just started to go to the gym and was looking for guilt free snacks I can get so i can’t wait to try this. I’m not usually a fan of orange flavoured chocolate but I’ll give it a go!

How good was that box? I’m really impressed. Don’t get me wrong… I’m not leaving you beauty because their boxes aren’t amazing.. I just want to see what else is out there too.

What other beauty boxes are you subscribed to? Any you recommend? Let me know!

Avon Haul

Hello beauties! Sorry I’ve been away for a while. As some of you may know, my email was hacked into and they tried to take over my social media. Fortunately, I get a text when someone tries to access my accounts from other computers/phones and I have to enter the code they text me for them to log in, but the same cannot be said for WordPress! I don’t know if it was malicious or just someone bored, but I finally got back into my emails after alot of work and now I have my blog back! Unfortunately, my posts that were set to publish and my drafts have disappeared.. I have alot of work to do to get some posts up so please bare with me! I hope you can forgive my absence..

So I haven’t had an Avon order for a while! I felt like I was just ordering things for the sake of it (we all do it!) so I decided to tell my rep that I was taking a break! So after a couple of months off, another brochure popped through my letter box and this is what I got!

Clearskin Pore Penetrating Black Mineral Mask

Effective oil absorbing mask. Acts like a magnet to pull out pore clogging dirt and help leave skin feel perfectly clean and clear. With witch hazel and mineral clays. The mask transforms from black to light grey when ready to rinse.

This really interested me reading the description, and it’s black too! You can never have too many masks I say! I don’t have a massive problem with blackheads, but sometimes I will have an outbreak on my nose. This will come in useful when that happens again! This is a 75ml tube. Full price is £5 but it was on offer in my brochure for £3, bargain!

Avon MagiX Multi Benefit Illuminator

Liquid highlighter, formulated with special light reflecting particles to give skin a radiant and illuminated appearance. With HD Finish Complex to blur the appearance of pores, lines and imperfections.

I was meant to do a post on this that was actually in my drafts I was working on (thanks hacker!) but I’ve had this illuminator before and I LOVED it! Sorry about the crappy pictures, lighting was terrible! I got this in a 2 for £10 offer which I couldn’t refuse! Full review available here.

Advanced Techniques Morrocan Argan Oil

Nourishing serum suitable for all hair types and for use on wet or dry hair. Instant shine, smooth finish. Weightless movement and leaves no residue*. With Argan Oil and vitamin E.

You guys know I’m no stranger to this oil! I can never be apart from it! I did a full review on this product here you can check out. This oil is so thick and rich that it keeps my hair feeling soft and healthy for longer! This is a 30ml jar retailed at £5.50 but I stole it for £2.99!

So that’s all my Avon products! I’m currently looking through the new brochure now, so there will most likely be another post soon with another haul!

Have you tried any of these products before? What did you think? What have you ordered from Avon lately? Let me know!

The Body Shop Haul

Hello beauties! I hope you’re all going well. I haven’t actually brought anything from The Body Shop for a while now because I wanted to try out some other brands, since I was getting a little over the top on my reviews it their products! But they are back! I kept getting emails saying they had offers on, and I couldn’t take it any longer!

I also got talked into getting their loyalty card too which id never really been interested in as I only ever really shop with them when they have offers on. I’d always been under the assumption that you couldn’t use the card with an offer, but aparently you can! Or so said the sales assistant…

Warming Mineral Mask

This cleansing mask for all skin types warms on contact with wet skin. It leaves skin clean and revitalised.

I actually got this as a free gift when I signed up for the loyalty card. Can’t complain about that since its worth £10. I was actually in the market for a new face mask anyway and I haven’t experimented much with self heating ones except for the Soap & Glory No Clogs Allowed Super Self-Heating Deep Pore Detox Mask.. Why do Soap & Glory products have such long names.. What a mouth full!

Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash

A gentle facial wash that lathers on the skin to leave it feeling clean, soft and refreshed

I needed something gentle because I keep breaking out in random spots. I’ve never really had sensitive skin, or been prone to spots.. But lately I’ve been breaking out more then usual. This is a 100ml tube for £8.50. This is one of the body shops best selling products so I’m very excited to give it a go!

Vitamin E Cream Exfoliator

A light and creamy facial scrub to gently exfoliate without irritating the skin, leaving it feeling smooth, soft and refined.

So as you can probably tell I’m sticking with the Vitamin E theme! I find that when you use products from the same range they work better with skincare. This 75ml tube is £10. Full review available here.

Vitamin E Sink In Moisture Mask

Sink some antioxidant Vitamin E into your skin. Bring skin back to optimum moisture level with this intensely hydrating mask.

I’m having trouble lately with dry skin, so a hydrating mask was definitely what i wanted to leave with. This is a 100ml tub for £13. Full review of this product is available here.

I got all of this in a 3 for 2 offer which totaled to £25.70 (including the loyalty card which is £5) which is pretty good! I only ever shop with bodyshop when they have offers on because I think some products are a little expensive. But they have them on all the time which is awesome!

Their Love Your Body card gives you 10% off your purchases for a year and gains you access to their exclusive members only events and perks throughout the year, including a special birthday present and sneak previews of new products.

Reviews of these items will be up when I’ve had a chance to get to them!

Have you shopped in the body shop lately? What did you get? Have you used anything I got? Let me know!

NOTD still experimenting with tape!

Hello beauties! I hope you’re all well. So I’m still experimenting with tape at the moment. And by tape I mean your usual sellotape! I’m still waiting for my actual nail art tape to come in the post. Hopefully it will be here soon, as in getting rather impatient!

Yes I’m still loving my OPI silver! I started off with Azature Lilac Diamond Nail Polish which is amazing. It dries so quickly which is good when you need to use tape. It stays so shiny too. After it had dried I covered half of my nail diagonally with tape and painted over with OPI Turn On The Haute Light which I’m sure to all know from my previous NOTD posts is a great polish for nail art. It’s so opaque so you don’t need multiple coats which causes stepping. I then went over the overlap with my black nail pen from my Seventeen Nail Clash Collection. I am loving using tape… Just need my actual stripping tape to come so I can do more interesting nail art!
