Make Up Gallery Time To Shine Nail Polish Review

Hello beauties! I hope you are all week. So these nail varnishes are from my Poundland Haul I did not that long ago. I was so curious to see how these nail varnishes would weigh up against drugstore nail polishes, or even high end. Considering that they are only £1 each (never would or guessed in a pound shop!) I wasn’t expecting alot. I’m the sort of person though that if I see a cheap nail polish, I’ll buy a couple just to see what it’s like. Cause when I find a cheap polish that’s amazing, I’ll go crazy and buy all the colours!

This amazing range gives so much choice sporting 39 exciting colours for every type of occasion, mood or outfit! The range includes simple matte colours such as Winter White, Simply Nude, Latte & Mushrom Magic, pretty pastel colours such as Spearmint & Lilac Lush, brilliant brights such as Popping Pink, Electric Orange & Sunshine Yellow, dangerous darks such as deep Amethyst, Midnight Black & Sapphire Blue, not forgetting the metallics and glitters with Precious Gold, Silver Treasure, Teal Tinsel, Purple Glitz & Rainbow Sparkle.

Review
The first polish I tried out was the Latte. I was surprised that the varnish was so opaque, I only needed one coat for a full coverage. I love it when I find a polish that is opaque, because it means less coats, which means less drying time, and it does dry fast too! Not as fast as some polishes, which I think is down to its thick consistency, but considering that it’s £1 a bottle I was very impressed! The longevity too is very impressive. I had it on for a week with only slight chipping.

The Purple Sheen required two coats because it’s a sheen colour so didn’t leave a flat colour on my nail bed. This one seemed to dry a bit faster then the latte. I think this is down to it being a thinner consistency. The longevity was also very impressive with this, but it only lasted me 4 days before it started to chip.

Conclusion
Overall, I think this is an amazing varnish for the price. At just £1 you could buy one of each colour and it not put a strain on your bank account. I’m so impressed with the longevity, and how opaque the latte shade is. If your after a cheap nail polish that isn’t going to break the bank, I suggest you head to your nearest Poundland!

What you found any cheap nail polishes that are amazing? Have you tried these out yet? What did you think? Let me know!

NOTD: All That Jazz Lipstick Is Our Obsession

image

Hello beauties! I hope your all well. I’m quite ill at the moment with a horrendous cough and cold so sorry I’ve been a bit quiet lately. Not sleeping much at the moment at night so when I finish work I haven’t got the energy to do much! But i have got the energy to do my nails! I love this nail varnish. I wore it alot over Christmas because it just screams Christmas! It’s a glitter infused red which I adore. The picture shows 2 coats which I think is quite good for a glitter infused polish! It dries very quickly, so it’s an ideal go to polish if your in a bit if a rush and don’t have time to wait around. It’s quite a tough wearing polish too, which I find most glitter based varnishes are.

what are you wearing at the moment?

NOTD: OPI Turn On The Haute Light

This is the start of my more scheduled life of blogging! I’m gonna be posting a Nails of the Day every Sunday from now on.

image

My first ever NOTD is gonna be OPIs Turn On The Haute Light which is received in my November Birchbox. I’ve really been loving this over the Christmas period. This picture was taken after just one application. How good is that! I think this would be great to use with some nail art with it being so pigmented. It’s a lovely shimmering silver that really stands out. I love how the light catches it too. OPI always knocks out great formulated varnishes that are easy to keep control of and their brushes are always the perfect size. The drying time is really good too. Since you only need one coat for a full coverage, it’s an ideal go to varnish if you don’t have time to wait around for your nails to dry.

What nail varnish are you wearing today? Let me know!

Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel Review

image

Hello beauties! So I actually brought this nail varnish to match my bridesmaid dress for my friends wedding in my Revlon Haul. I felt like a right idiot waking around superdrug, picking up every nail varnish that looked like it and comparing it to a picture of the dress on my phone. Needs must though! Nail varnish has changed so much since I was a kid. Now we have foils, wraps, caviar beads, gel polish, magnetic polish… I could go on. But now we have scented nail polish! I know other brands have done this before, but it’s the first time I’ve used any scented nail polish.

The Revlon Parfumerie™ Nail Enamel Collection reveals a light and enticing fragrance when dry, for a whole new way to experience colour. Vibrant and punchy shades, like China Flower, are infused by exotic & fruity notes.

Review
First off, I love the bottles. They actually remind me of little perfume bottles. Which is the point I guess. I thought that maybe because the lid is quite small and round that it would be hard to actually control the brush, but it surprisingly wasn’t. The brush is awesome too. Not big that it makes a mess of your nail bed, but not too small that you have to keep topping the brush up with polish for one nail, which usually leads to streaking. I didn’t get any scents from the polish while applying, but I didn’t smell that usual chemically nail polish smell, which is good! This shade has a fine glitter based, so it took me a couple of coats to get the shade I required to match my dress. The only bad thing about applying multiple coats is drying time. I applied about 4 coats and it wasn’t the fastest drying, but it’s never going to be when you apply that many coats. Even though I applied so many coats, it lasted nearly a week! Which I was really shocked at. This isn’t a colour that I would wear very often because it’s not really me, but it was perfect for my dress I wore for my friends wedding. At least I know now that it’s a good nail varnish.

Conclusion
I would definitely buy more shades in this range. And maybe next time I’ll actually smell it to see what it smells like! I think I was in too much if a rush when I applied it to actually give it a wif! These are currently available at  Superdrug for £6.49 with a range of 17 sades all totally wearable.

Avon Nail Experts Liquid Freeze Review

Who’s got the time to wait around for nails to dry? Not me! I brought this in a Avon Haul, I’ve brought it a few times and only just realised that I haven’t actually reviewed it yet. I’ve used many drying sprays because and I’ve always been a fan of this one.

image

Spray nails dry in a flash. A convenient, fast-drying top coat in a easy to use spray.

Application
Allow nail enamel to set. Spray on light coat to surface dry nail enamel in only 30 seconds. Avoid contact with eyes.

Review
The product is a simple pump spray action. As I’ve said, I’ve tried many drying sprays. Some expensive. Some not so expensive. But this one I’ve repurchased. I’ve found it does just as good a job as the more expensive versions. I wouldn’t dare painting my nails without this little beauty. The one added bonus about this product is that it always conditions my cuticles. My cuticles can get quite dry, especially if I’ve removed some nail varnish before applying another shade. It does leave an oily residue on your hands, but it’s a small price to pay to be able to use my hands! The only let down for this is that is does smell rather chemically. But that’s something  I can easily overlook, since nail products don’t usually tend to smell the best!

Conclusion
I will always repurchase this as long as Avon are selling it! It comes in a 50ml bottle for £6. It doesn’t seem alot when you look at it, but it lasts me a good few months!

Have you tried this Freeze spray? Have you used any others? Do you recommend any for me to try? Let me know!

Yves Rocher Pink Nail Polish Review

I received this in my August Glossybox. I haven’t been using nail varnish lately because I had to cut all my nails off because of going to Reading Festival. There is nothing I hate more then breaking a nail and at a place like that you always will!

image

Review
I’m not the biggest fan of pink. It’s too girly for me and if you knew me in person you would see I’m not that girly, I just love my make up and clothes! My heart sunk when I saw yet another mini bottle of nail polish. The brushes are always so tiny in these mini pots that it’s so hard to get good coverage on your nail bed, which is what i found with this. Although it worked out in the end, it just seems like too much hard work for a colour I’m not really that hyped about. I wish I could just be sent full sized nail polishes or not at all. It’s lasted me a couple of days now and I only have a few chips but I’ve been doing a lot of cleaning lately which always ruins my nails. It’s held up its gloss which I’m impressed with.

Conclusion
It’s not a bad nail varnish. It seems like I hate it because of the sample size brush, but the actual nail polish is good. I can’t really comment if I would buy a full size one because I’m not too sure about the brush. Weather I don’t like it because it’s so small or that I just don’t like it. This is why i hate being sent sample sizes of nail polish because I can never judge them properly

What did you think of your Yves Rocher nail polish? Would you buy a fill size? What did you think of the brush? Let me know!

Review: Colour Club Glossy Seal

Hello beauties! So, I only received this the other day in my July Glossybox, but last night I was off out and wanted a new colour to wear, so I picked this one so I could test it out!

image

Review
The first thing I noticed about this Polish when applying it at first was, it absolutely stinks. I know all nail varnishes smell, but if your like me and you paint your nails all the time, you get used to the smell. This stuff stinks. It was making me gag when I was putting it on. So let’s move on to application. The formula is so opaque, it really impressed me. What didn’t impress me however is how hard it is to control. The polish was going all over my cuticles and fingers. I had to do alot of cleaning up before taking the above photo. It’s just too watery. No one likes a thick polish, but you want something that you can control too. I wasn’t overly impressed with the brush. It didn’t really fan out to cover my nail bed properly like alot of my other polishes do. On the positive side however, my nails dried very quickly, and I only had one chip all night, which was from a damaged nail anyway. I do love the colour, but I personally don’t think it suits the season.

Conclusion
Would I buy this product? I really wouldn’t after testing this. Although my nails look great in the picture above, it took a lot of tidying up to get them to that. I don’t really want to have to do that everytime I apply my polish, it took forever!

Have you tried this Polish yet? What did you think? Would you buy another? Let me know!
