The Body Shop Warming Mineral Mask Review

Hello beauties! I hope you are all good. So I’ve had this mask in my draw for a few months from one of my many The Body Shop Hauls and only recently got around to using it. I actually got this as a free gift from The Body Shop because I took out one of their loyalty cards.

This cleansing mask for all skin types warms on contact with wet skin. It leaves skin clean and revitalised.

Use after cleansing and toning. Wet skin and apply a generous layer to the face, avoiding the lip and eye areas. Leave for five minutes, then rinse off with warm water. Use once or twice weekly after cleansing.

This clay mask is very thick and heats up as soon as your start massaging it into your wet face. The heat is a lovely sensation, even on those warmer summer nights! Just think how awesome it would be in the winter! Reminder to myself, buy some more for the winter if I run out!

The heat doesn’t last forever and cools down after a while. The mask doesn’t drys, which I prefer because I find its harder to remove masks when they dry to your skin, and sometimes leaves me with dry patches!
After five minutes I removed it with warm water. It removes so easily, as I had expected. My skin felt fresh and cleansed after. The only downside is that it did dry out my nose a little bit, which is a bit dissapoining. I know this mask isn’t made to keep your skin hydrated, but it certainly made my skin feel cleansed.

I wouldn’t advise using this if you have very dry skin, as it would dry it out even more. For my oily bit it complete stripped the oil from my skin. So if you have combination skin like myself, make sure you have a good moisturiser to use after for those pesky dry areas! I used The Body Shop Vitamin E Sink In Moisture Mask after because it’s quick to use so didn’t take up too much time using another mask.

Urban Veda Radiance Exfoliating Facial Polish Review

Hello beauties! I hope you’re all well. I actually brought this Facial Polish with my Birchbox points. It’s features in my post What I Spent My Birchbox Points On. I currently have £30 worth of points in my account, so if you have any ideas on what I should use it towards, let me know cause I’m having alot of trouble deciding!

Naturally formulated to Ayurvedic principles to brighten and balance skin tone, our creamy Radiance Exfoliating Facial Polish gently exfoliates while antioxidant-rich superfruits support cell renewal, revealing a youthful, radiant complexion. Skin softening botanicals aid skin’s natural barrier function and infuse the epidermis with phytonutrients to guard against moisture loss and support skin elasticity.

Apply to wet face, massage using gentle circular movements, and rinse with cold water for a complexion and circulation boost.

I’ve really enjoyed using this product. I’ve been using it for a couple of months now and I’ve been loving every day! With a delicate floral scent, I found this exfoliator delightfully refreshing. I use it a couple of times a week, and it really revives my skin. This exfoliator contains microbeads which gently exfoliate the skin. It isn’t too harsh on your skin at all, which i find some exfoliators can be. After removal, the product leaves the skin feeling hydrated, clean and very smooth. It contain Ayurvedic principles, which helps brighten and boot the skin bringing your skin back to life. It also contains skin friendly ingrediants that you want in a facial polish such as Licorice, which is used to help even out your skin tone. The ingredient that I notice the most and that springs to mind is Tumeric. Tumeric is an active ingrediant in skincare that helps many things such as acne, tackling wrinkles and dry skin as well as removing dead skin,  all of which can be seen when using this. This really has been my best friend during the winter. I don’t like to use exfoliators everyday, but when my skin is in need of a boost, this is the product I reach out for!

Would I use this again? Defiantly! It’s so cheap at £8.99 for a 125ml tube which lasts ages by the way! You only need a pea size to get to work on your face! I’m really ibtreeged by this brand now and look forward to trying some of their other products! You can check out their website here, along with this amazing product!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Sink In Moisture Mask Review

Hello beauties! I hope you’re all well. So with these high winds we have been having lately, my skin has been especially dry lately. This mask has been my best friend. I purchased this in a recent The Body Shop Haul.

Sink some antioxidant Vitamin E into your skin. Bring skin back to optimum moisture level with this intensely hydrating mask.

Smooth a thin layer onto dry, clean skin with your fingers. Leave for 10 minutes. You may feel a slight cooling sensation. Then simply wipe away with a tissue.

This mask is like a thin facial cream. It doesn’t dry onto your face like a usual mask would, which is great if you have dry skin like me at the moment. It smells amazing too, like really amazing… So much so when I first tried it I had my nose in it for 10 minutes before putting it on! The thing I love about this is that because it doesn’t dry onto your skin like other masks, it’s so easy to remove! I just use a cloth to remove mine. This opens up more opportunities to actually use it. I can use it before work if I have a little extra time to wait around, because you haven’t got the time consuming job of removing it after!

It’s very cooling too. I can imagine it being so soothing in the summer when your house is like an oven, or you have had a stressful day at work. It leaves your skin feeling so so soft. Like a babies bottom if you will! You don’t need to use alot either. Because it’s so thin, it spreads beautifully so a tub lasts a while. This product currently retails at £13 for a 100ml tub. You can check it out on The Body Shop’s website here.

Although I do love this product and I think it’s amazing, I do have some concerns for people with sensitive skin. Looking at the ingredients there are so many fragrance ingredients which we all know irritates skin. My skin isn’t irritated easily so I’m alright, but if you have especially sensitive skin I could maybe look elsewhere. But that’s my only gripe with this product to be honest.

Vitamin E is amazing. It’s one of the most powerful antioxidant vitamins you can put on your face! With that, you’d think this mask is nothing short of amazing. I use this about 3 times a week to keep my skin feeling soft. That works great for me. I’ve noticed that you can’t really use this once a week and have soft skin all week, so this isn’t no mirical cure to dry skin, you need to keep on top of it!

Have you tried this mask? What did you think? Can you recommend any masks for me to use? Let me know!

Korres Citrus Body Milk Review

Hello beauties! I hope your all well. I’m so close  to finishing touch  Christmas shopping. The only people I have left are the ones that just don’t know what they want.. I hate that! Especially when they ask you and you tell them what you what… I’m rambling now… Ha. So I got this in my September Birchbox. I started using it about a month ago everytime I had a shower and this is what I thought about this product.

With a nourishing and soothing combination of almond oil, aloe, shea butter and provitamin B5, this lotion will leave your skin feeling super-hydrated throughout the day. The lightweight formula’s citrusy scent is the perfect morning pick-me-up ritual. Plus, there are no silicones, or other synthetics and the packaging is all recyclable.

To maximise hydration, apply post-shower while the skin is still damp.

This first thing I thought when trying this Greek product out is the amazing smell. It smells so fresh, I couldn’t get enough while applying it. As it says, you apply this after your shower or bath while your skin is still damp, which is new to me as I’ve never actually tried any body milk products. To my surprised when it dried, it really did dry matte. I think now the weather is getting colder, I personally need products that really pack a punch in the moisturising area, or I start to get dry spots. This for me is totally the wrong time of year to be trying this. I’d of really loved to have tried it in the summer when you really don’t need that full punch of moisture because it just makes you even hotter! Probably my fault for leaving it so late, but it’s so hard to get through all these products! Although a little too drying for this time of year, I smelt it on me all day! I might have to put this away for when it gets warmer again.

I feel that I can’t really make a fair decision on this without trying it out when it gets warmer. Personally, this isn’t the time of year for me to try this out. This seems like a rather non review review, but I’m just voicing my opinions!

What did you think of this product? Did you enjoy it? Let me know!

Benefit It’s Potent! Eye Cream Review

Hello beauties! So I’ve been using this a while now, every morning and every night. I received this in my September Birchbox. I’ve been quite surprised at how long it’s lasted me! But i suppose when your using something on such a small area like your eyes, it’s gonna!

It’s potent! eye cream fades dark circles & helps smooth fine lines for brighter, younger-looking eyes. Contains a peptide complex known to help restore elasticity & firmness, a blend of hydrating botanical extracts including apple extract, known to help boost collagen, & loquat extract, known to help protect the skin from free radical damage.

This is a 3g sample I received, and like i said, it’s lasted me quite a while! I recently had some trouble with the sensitive skin around my eyes. It was looking so dry when I put any foundation on my skin. I had to use extra Virgin Olive Oil to deeply hydrate my skin for a couple of weeks. After that I maintained it with this cream. Let’s start with the packaging. I never really understand when creams are in jars. All plant extracts, vitamins and antioxidants break down once the jar is opened and lets the air in, which leads the ingredients to degrade. Now let’s get into the stuff in the jar. I don’t have particularly sensitive skin. But one of my blogger friends Rachel over at Rachwat said she had a reaction using this. So I decided to investigate what’s actually in this Potent cream. Turns out, this cream is jam packed with film-forming agent. As we all know, film-forming agent can make skin feel smoother and temporarily tighter. It can also make your skin irritated. Irritation can lead to wrinkles, bags and dark circles. Everything this cream claims to reduce! It’s also lacking in anti aging ingredients, it contains more preservative and alcohol then anything to reduce those fine lines. Alot of people have said that they have noticed their skin stinging when they have applied it. This is due to the amount of alcohol in it. On the plus side, it is a cracking moisturiser, despite all the alcohol. Personally I prefer something heavier for the PM to soak into my skin, but it was good for the AM. It kept my dry eyes at bay. It soaks into your skin beautifully, and it works great under your make up. But I’m afraid ladies that it’s just another glorified moisturiser.

Will I be buying the full size jar? I will not be. If it was a bit cheaper I could consider it, but £25 for just a bog standard moisturiser is far too much in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong, I do like this moisturiser, but I just don’t agree with the lack of beneficial ingredients and the over powering of film forming agents which irritate skin.

Have you tried this cream? What did you think? What eye cream are you using at the moment? Let me know!

Ways to use Egyptian Magic

So you’ve probably seen me post a bit lately about Egyptian Magic. I recently brought a full sized tub, so I’ve been researching different ways you can actually use this, and I thought I would share it with you beautiful people! The quotes featured in my post are all from the testimonials section of Egyptian Magics website from their customers.

This is the most obvious use, and the one it’s well known for. It only takes a small amount to intensely moisturise your skin. Containing only 6 natural ingredients Honey, Beeswax, Olive Oil, Royal Jelly, Bee Pollen and Bee Propolis, this miracle in a tub packs a punch. It’s free of additives, preservatives, fragrances, chemicals or parabens.

.. the other day I ran out of my night eye cream and was looking at the tub of this stuff and tried it under my eyes. WOW! My eyes looked great the next morning. The next night I tried it all over my face. My skin looked amazing the next day. I was so hesitant to try this, as I have super oily skin, large pores, etc.

Face Mask
If you suffer from dry skin, this stuff will fix that! Recently with the weather change, I’ve had a few patches of dry skin on my face. After cleansing your face, all you need to do is use a bit more then you usually would to just moisturise your skin to mask your face. Wait 20 minutes for it to penetrate your skin and wash off with a warm washcloth.

I try a lot of products from lotions and creams to skin treatments and more (it’s one of the great perks of the biz). However, so many “it” creams can be torture for the skin. When I tried Egyptian Magic, my skin was moisturized, glowing and blemish free.

Treating Cuts
I’ve read a lot of reviews saying it helps heal small cuts faster.

there were several times myself and my crew used it… it was great for cuts, which we all had many of since we were climbing and trekking all over Bolivia

Healing Scars
I’ve tried out quite a few products that promise to diminish scars. I have one above my eyebrow, so I’m looking forward to see if this works.

I woke up and glanced in the mirror and just couldn’t believe what I saw! The red scar marks on my face had diminished and just the overall quality of my skin looked better than it ever had!

After using your product for nearly 3 months, the appearance of my scars are barely there. I have tried everything from dermabrasion to mederma nothing worked. Your product has made my once really red dark scars into light pink spots on my skin. I have only used half the bottle, imagine when I finish the bottle. I am absolutely amazed, I don’t have to wear makeup if I don’t want to and my confidence is so much higher.

Healing Eczema
Alot of people prefer using this natural cream, rather then the creams prescribed by doctors due to long term use of steroids worrying people.

my 21-month-old daughter who has a bad case of eczema on her arm. Her doctor prescribed two different cortisone creams; neither worked. We saw a dermatologist who prescribed a third, and rather than go that route I have been using Egyptian Magic on her twice a day. I have seen a huge difference since we have started using it on a regular basis. The irritation and inchiness has subsided.

Hair Treatment
You can use it to get those fly away hairs in place, control frizz, or just slap it on after washing your hair as a conditioner!

I’ve been travelling in South East Asia for the past few weeks and my hair was suffering from the humidity! It’s very difficult hair and doesn’t respond well to much so for most of my trip I sported the Frizzy Look. Thankfully I found someone one who looked as though they had my type of hair but it looked perfectly curly with no frizzies in sight. Upon asking this guy what he was using to combat the elements and maintain the Shirley Temple curls despite the 99% humidity, he pulled out a tub of Egyptian Magic Cream. It is fantastic stuff!

Treating Burns
If treating burns, apply at least 24 hours after the burn, so the heat isn’t conducted under the cream, but rather helps to heal the sore patch

While cleaning up I ran across it and used it on a burn I had. I thought I was going to be scarred from the way it wasn’t healing but once I put your Cream on it you can’t even tell I was burnt. I now never have the jar out of my sight.

Treating Furniture
I was shocked reading this one, but it can also give your furniture a new lease of life!

I used it to pleasing effect on my feet that evening and as I read the ingredients it occurred to me that it might be perfect for attempting to rub the scratches out that my 1914 Ellington upright grand piano suffered in her last move. I’ve got to tell you I got more than a little carried away after seeing how well it worked and the piano now looks better than I’ve ever seen it. It not only cleaned and removed scratches from the surface but also gave the tiger mahogany a beautiful deep lustre.

Treating Acne Scars
My friend has bad ache scars from when she was younger, so I’m gonna show her this one!

I used to have a face full of acne when I was young. I am 40 years old and have an oily skin besides having a bumpy skin because of the breakout. I didn’t expect much since the cream was greasy. To my surprise, however, I have a great skin condition after applying it overnight. After a while, the skin surface got smooth. In my entire 40 years, I have the most beautiful skin now.

Treating Wrinkles
I had some wrinkles that were looking quite deep under my eyes. It was getting me down, and it worked for me. They haven’t completely gone, but they look a hell of alot smoother then they did!

I had two major wrinkles on my forehead. No cosmetic product helped improve the situation. The wrinkles started fading away after using your product, and people tell me that I look younger these days.

Treating Insect Bites
Everyone knows the pain of an insect bite… When we had our cat, he always got fleas no matter how hard we tried to keep them away. Could of done with some of this then!

I was bitten by a black-fly. I was really concerned, I was recommended your cream. Within one day, the itchiness and pain got better.

Treating Lips
This is another obvious one. The texture of the cream is alot like vaseline, so it kinda makes sense!

My lip were very rough and dry. Any type of lipsticks made my lip swollen. With your cream, my lip got better.

So those are some of the testimonials I’ve found that I thought were quite good. I’m really looking forward to using this product in different ways, hopefully not for any burns and cuts any time soon though, for obvious painful reasons! How have you used Egyptian Magic?

Boots Botanics Micellar 3 in 1 Cleansing Solution Review

Hello beauties! So I brought this in my Boots Haul a while ago. I’ve been using this for a while now, but I’ve only really got the most out of it after buying a waterproof mascara that is a nightmare to get off! Not anymore..

This cleansing solution feels as gentle as water on the skin to dissolve make up, unclog pores and remove impurities. Skin feels soft, smooth and comforted in one easy step. A calming cleanser with no rinsing required for use on the face, eyes and lips. Suitable for all skin types even those with very sensitive or dry skin.
This cleanser has marshmallow, which is nature’s soothing star. The roots are packed with natural sugars that work together to help leave skin less reactive and altogether calmer

Use morning and evening. Apply to skin using a cotton wool pad. Hold over lashes, lids and lips for a few seconds and wipe away. No need to rinse or rub.

I’ll first start with the packaging. I’ve used other Micellar water, and they usually have tops you can squeeze the product out of, so you have some sort of control over how much comes out. This isn’t the case with this. It’s just an open top, which is the only thing that annoys me about this. It’s exactly the consistency as you would imagine it… Like water. According to the experts, marshmallow sugars contain remedying properties and helps calm irritated skin. Paired with linden flower extract, which helps to reduce skin redness and irritation, this is one soothing solution. I don’t have sensitive skin, so I can’t really comment on that aspect. But I haven’t had any sort of reaction. Any why would I? It’s for sensitive skin. My skin feels so clean after using this, it especially works wonders on my Mac waterproof mascara. This stuff really doesn’t budge! But with this, it’s off with ease. It smells quite nice too!

At £3.29 for 250ml I think this is a bargain, compared to the likes of Bioderma which is gonna hurt your purse. I’ve been using it for 3 weeks now, and I’ve only used a little. Alot of people just splash out the product onto a cotton pad, but if you place the top onto the pad, and slightly lift it off so only a little product comes out, you don’t get soaked and it lasts longer. I’ll definitely be repurchasing this.

What do you think about Micellar water? Which ones have you tried? Let me know!

Skin Pep Brightening Enzyme & Acid Peel Review

I received this in my September Glossybox. I was scared to use it at first. I mean.. It has the word acid in the name! But, I got the courage to try it out.

Our professional salon grade protein dissolving natural enzyme derived gel uses extracts of Pineapple and Papaya.
We combine them with proven natural —Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) Glycolic acid and Lactic acid, to create a highly effective, yet gentle peeling gel. Use up to twice per week to leave exfoliated, soft, bright and beautiful skin.

Apply a small amount of gel to damp face, neck or body and gently massage in for 1-2 minutes. Leave on for another 1-2 minutes and then wash off. Use up to twice weekly

This peel is translucent and quite thick, as a peel usually is. It’s also really sticky, again as a peel usually is, which made it such a mess to applying. It seems a strange method to apply it to a damp face in my opinion. When I first applied the peel, it stung a little, it freaked me out for a second, but it subsided after like 20 seconds. After covering my whole face, I massaged it into my face and waited 5 minutes. This peel doesn’t dry to your face, it just sits on top of your face like jelly. After I worked it in and left it for 5 minutes i washed the product off with a warm washcloth. My skin felt really clean. It didn’t feel any softer then it usually would however.

This peel comes in various sizes.
3.5ml sachet : £3.99
15ml tube : £14.99
30ml tube : £29.99
180ml tube : £89.99
It’s quite expensive.. I mean.. If i could buy these 3.5ml sachets in my local drugstore as a treat when my face needed a good clean, I’d probably pick up one. I don’t think i would ever commit to a full sized product though. I’ve tried similar products that are much cheaper that bring results and aren’t gonna chemically strip your face. I can’t say I really like the idea of this to be honest. The one thing I do like about this product is that’s it’s Paraben Free. I’m trying to use products that don’t control paraben, so I’ll keep this in mind when choosing my skin care products.

Have you tried this product? What did you think? What peels have you tried? Let me know!

Soap & Glory No Clogs Allowed Super Self-Heating Deep Pore Detox Mask Review

I brought this in my Boots Haul. I love Soap & Glory products. I’m hardly ever disappointed with them, and they usually have some sort of offer on then in Boots! Which always hurts my bank account..

No Clogs Allowed™ is perfect for weekly use on areas prone to blackhead build-up, or more often as a deep-oil-emulsifying, detoxifying face mask and all-round scrubby WONDER!

Once a week. Shake bottle before use. Massage a grape-sized dab of No Clogs Allowed™ onto your face, then wet your hands and scrub until it turns blue and you feel heating. After 5 minutes, rub it all off with a warm, wet washcloth.

The consistency of this mask is strange. It’s like a mud mask, but thinner. It also has quite large exfoliating breads which I also found quite strange. The first thing I will say about this product if anyone does want to try it, make sure you shake the bottle! If you don’t, the mask will be separated and come out watery and gooey, which you don’t want!
When first applying the product to my face, it instantly started to heat up. It was quite warm, but not overly warm that it was uncomfortable. Once my face was covered, I soaked my hands and worked the product into my face. It instantly started to heat up again. The beads desolved into my face and the once white mask turned blue.
After leaving the product on my face for 10 minutes (I know it says 5 but I always loose track of time, I was watching Arrow at the time!) I washed the mask off with a warm washcloth. I  dried my face and it felt very clean. My usual oily T-Zone was was stripped of oil. Unfortunately, the parts of my face that aren’t oily were quite dry. The next time I used this, I only applied it to my T-Zone and it worked perfectly.

You can get this from Boots for £11.50 but they usually have some offers on their Soap & Glory products. It’s not the biggest tube at 100ml, but since I’m going to be only using it on my T-Zone, I feel it’s not such a bad price and will last a while. If you have dry skin, I highly recommend you don’t use this. If you have oily or combination skin, this will be good for you, but only if you use it where you have problems with oil.

Have you ever tried this product? What did you think? What over Soap & Glory products do you love? Let me know!

Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream Review

I received this in my July You Beauty Discovery Box. So since giving my room a tidy and sorting out all the products I don’t use anymore and organising the ones I do, I came across some thing I never got around to using. I’m gonna try and use things up before going on to the next item (although I probably won’t because I’m always curious about the next product!)

Egyptian Magic is an all-natural skin cream made from six of nature’s most powerful moisturizing and healing ingredients. For more than 20 years we have been blending these ingredients  using our unique, proprietary process based on a formula that was created thousands of years ago in the land of the Pharaohs.

Nicknamed “Cleopatra’s Cream” it’s worshipped by big Hollywood names like Madonna, Kate Hudson and Brooke Shields. It’s an oil based cream packed with natural ingredients. The thing I love about this product is that it’s multi purpose. You know I love a good multi purpose item! It can be used in your hair, face, body and eyes. Another great thing is that you only need a little bit for your entire face, this sachet lasted me about two weeks! I think a whole tub would last me a year! The only thing that I’m worried about buying the full sized tub is the fact that they only have natural ingredients in, the shelf life won’t be as good. While doing some research though, I found out that it actually has a shelf life of 3 years! As long as you store it in good conditions. It won’t spoil, all that will change is the consistency. It will still be just as effective. At the moment I’ve only been using it as a night cream because I only had one sachet but my make up has never looked at good using this on my skin before I go to bed.

This product bas been hyped, and I believe in the hype! Would I buy this item? Definitely! (I already have with my birchbox points!) it’s going to last forever and it’s such a good product. It is a bit expensive at £29.99 for a 4oz tub. If your going to purchase this, please make sure it’s from a reputable seller because there  are alot of copies out there for cheaper!

Have you tried Egyptian Magic? What did you think? Does it live up to the hype? What cream are you using at the moment? Let me know!
