The Body Shop Warming Mineral Mask Review

Hello beauties! I hope you are all good. So I’ve had this mask in my draw for a few months from one of my many The Body Shop Hauls and only recently got around to using it. I actually got this as a free gift from The Body Shop because I took out one of their loyalty cards.

image

This cleansing mask for all skin types warms on contact with wet skin. It leaves skin clean and revitalised.

Application
Use after cleansing and toning. Wet skin and apply a generous layer to the face, avoiding the lip and eye areas. Leave for five minutes, then rinse off with warm water. Use once or twice weekly after cleansing.

Review
This clay mask is very thick and heats up as soon as your start massaging it into your wet face. The heat is a lovely sensation, even on those warmer summer nights! Just think how awesome it would be in the winter! Reminder to myself, buy some more for the winter if I run out!

image

The heat doesn’t last forever and cools down after a while. The mask doesn’t drys, which I prefer because I find its harder to remove masks when they dry to your skin, and sometimes leaves me with dry patches!
After five minutes I removed it with warm water. It removes so easily, as I had expected. My skin felt fresh and cleansed after. The only downside is that it did dry out my nose a little bit, which is a bit dissapoining. I know this mask isn’t made to keep your skin hydrated, but it certainly made my skin feel cleansed.

Conclusion
I wouldn’t advise using this if you have very dry skin, as it would dry it out even more. For my oily bit it complete stripped the oil from my skin. So if you have combination skin like myself, make sure you have a good moisturiser to use after for those pesky dry areas! I used The Body Shop Vitamin E Sink In Moisture Mask after because it’s quick to use so didn’t take up too much time using another mask.

How to get your feet ready for spring!

Hello beauties! I hope you are all good. So spring is here and this is the time of year to get out your sandles and sunglasses and enjoy what sun we get! But there is one thing we have to prepare… And that’s our feet! We all do it.. We all forget about our feet in the winter. They are hidden away in closed shoes for months and months and we just forget to take care of them! I thought to myself last year that I was gonna try and take care of my feet throughout winter. I did.. For a couple of months.. And then totally forgot! But have no fear, I have wrote up this post so we can all get our feet ready for spring and in to those new sandals you just brought!

Hard Skin
Heels get thick skin in the winter. Before I shower I use the Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi Electronic Foot File. It’s great because it takes all the effort out of filing your feet. The file has a roller head that turns and you just apply a little pressure to remove any thick skin. Don’t press to hard though or it just stops! This is currently available at Boots for £29.99! It’s so worth it. So much better then those pumice stones, and less effort too!

image

Foot Scrub
I realise you aren’t gonna have time all the time to file down your dry skin.. Cause it does take a while! So in between treatment I use The Body Shop Peppermint Soothing Pumice Foot Scrub. The exfoliating volcanic rock granules help to slough away rough patches of hardened skin, to leave feet femininely soft, smooth and freshly fragrant. Perfectly prepared for those strappy sandals! You can get a 100ml tub for £7 which is pretty good…
and it smells amazing!

image

Moisturiser
One product i have been loving lately is something I got some Christmas, which is Soap and Glory Heel Genius. I apply this at night after my shower and put some cotton socks on I got from Avon and go to bed! In the morning my feet feel amazingly soft. This is currently available at Boots for £5.50 for a 125ml tube which lates a while! Still haven’t gotten through mine yet!

image

Toe Hair!
Everyone has it, some more than others. You can remove toe hair any way you like.. depilatory, shave, wax, whatever works. Removing toe hair is one of those little things that can make your feet look smooth and polished!

After all that, all you have to do is paint your nails! That’s the fun part. What products have you been using to get your feet into shape ready for spring?

The Body Shop Haul

Hello beauties! I hope you’re all going well. I haven’t actually brought anything from The Body Shop for a while now because I wanted to try out some other brands, since I was getting a little over the top on my reviews it their products! But they are back! I kept getting emails saying they had offers on, and I couldn’t take it any longer!

image

I also got talked into getting their loyalty card too which id never really been interested in as I only ever really shop with them when they have offers on. I’d always been under the assumption that you couldn’t use the card with an offer, but aparently you can! Or so said the sales assistant…

Warming Mineral Mask

image

This cleansing mask for all skin types warms on contact with wet skin. It leaves skin clean and revitalised.

I actually got this as a free gift when I signed up for the loyalty card. Can’t complain about that since its worth £10. I was actually in the market for a new face mask anyway and I haven’t experimented much with self heating ones except for the Soap & Glory No Clogs Allowed Super Self-Heating Deep Pore Detox Mask.. Why do Soap & Glory products have such long names.. What a mouth full!

Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash

image

A gentle facial wash that lathers on the skin to leave it feeling clean, soft and refreshed

I needed something gentle because I keep breaking out in random spots. I’ve never really had sensitive skin, or been prone to spots.. But lately I’ve been breaking out more then usual. This is a 100ml tube for £8.50. This is one of the body shops best selling products so I’m very excited to give it a go!

Vitamin E Cream Exfoliator

image

A light and creamy facial scrub to gently exfoliate without irritating the skin, leaving it feeling smooth, soft and refined.

So as you can probably tell I’m sticking with the Vitamin E theme! I find that when you use products from the same range they work better with skincare. This 75ml tube is £10. Full review available here.

Vitamin E Sink In Moisture Mask

image

Sink some antioxidant Vitamin E into your skin. Bring skin back to optimum moisture level with this intensely hydrating mask.

I’m having trouble lately with dry skin, so a hydrating mask was definitely what i wanted to leave with. This is a 100ml tub for £13. Full review of this product is available here.

I got all of this in a 3 for 2 offer which totaled to £25.70 (including the loyalty card which is £5) which is pretty good! I only ever shop with bodyshop when they have offers on because I think some products are a little expensive. But they have them on all the time which is awesome!

Their Love Your Body card gives you 10% off your purchases for a year and gains you access to their exclusive members only events and perks throughout the year, including a special birthday present and sneak previews of new products.

Reviews of these items will be up when I’ve had a chance to get to them!

Have you shopped in the body shop lately? What did you get? Have you used anything I got? Let me know!

September Empties

image

I’ve been meaning to write this up for ages. Life has been hectic at the moment though. It’s my friends wedding on Saturday and I’m a bridesmaid. So much preparation! So please excuse my silence as of late.  I didn’t do a empties in October because I didn’t have much to actually do a post with.. But this month I’ve been trying to get through my shampoos that I haven’t finished, to make room for new ones.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Microdermabrasion

image

I’ve really enjoyed using this. It’s a really good exfoliators. It’s lasted me quite a few months. I used it once a week and it really kept my dry skin on my face at bay. Not so much under my eyes though. That needed extreme moisturizing. Would I buy this again? Probably if I was near a body shop and I needed one. But I have another exfoliators to try out.. I did a full review of this here.

Avon Planet Spa Blissfully Nourishing Hair Mask

image

This has featured in quite a few of my empties and I’m sure it won’t be the last time! I get about 3 uses out of this 200ml tub. It smells amazing. I’ll definitely be buying this again and again! I did a full review of this item here.

TRESemme Luxurious Moisture Conditioner

image

I don’t buy this Conditioner often. The only time I buy it is when I’ve ran out and I’m in a rush and I only have time to go to the tesco express up the road from me. It’s basically my ‘I’ve ran out of the Conditioner that goes with my shampoo’ Conditioner. I’m not much of a fan of the Shampoo but i love the Conditioner. Always makes my hair super soft.

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Colour Renew Tone Correcting Shampoo

image

I’m not sure how I feel about this Shampoo. Everytime I used it, I felt like my hair was getting greaser faster. The Conditioner is lovely, but I don’t think I’ll be buying this again. It did how ever keep my brassy tones at bay.

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer

image

I’m really getting into my Elasticizer type products at the moment. I’ve really noticed a difference with the amount of hair that’s snapping off or falling out reduce. I’m looking to buy a full size of this. I did a full review here.

Louis Galvin Sacred Locks Masque

image

I really liked this mask. It’s light, didn’t weigh my hair down and showed good results. I did a full review here. Would I buy this full size? Probably not. As my Avon Planet Spa Blissfully Nourishing Hair Mask does just as good a job at a fraction of the price.

So that’s my empties this month! Mostly hair products with isn’t a surprise with me because it takes me so long to get through make up because I always change products. I’m trying to get better at using products up, working progress!

Have you used any of these? What did you think? Let me know!

The Body Shop Spa Wisdom Africa Ximenia & Salt Scrub Review

I brought this in my Body Shop Haul. I’ve never really been much for salt scrubs, but since I had to make my money up to get the discount I thought I would give this a try.

image

image

This salt scrub is inspired by African tribal spa rituals. It moisturises as it exfoliates

Application
Massage onto wet skin in the bath or shower. Rinse thoroughly.

Review
I love the packaging of this. It’s so cute and reusable, and the tub is so big at 350ml, it’s going to last me forever! It says to massage onto wet skin, but I think it works better on dry skin. Not totally dry but I find that it doesn’t work as well if your skin is soaked. When I used it on wet skin it just seemed to disappear and it just seemed really pointless. It smells great and the texture is amazing. It’s not too rough on your skin and the cream in the scrub really moisturises. Left my skin so soft and polished.

Conclusion
I think this is a little bit expensive at £15. Saying that, you do get alot and I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and I feel like I have used hardly any. The Body Shop always have offers on, which is only when I really buy from them to be honest, so you can always get a good deal of things that you think are a bit expensive. The benefits of this scrub are amazing, as long as you use it on dry skin. It’s pretty pointless on wet skin. I have no idea why they tell you to use in wet skin.

You can check out this item on The Body Shop website here.

Have you used this salt scrub? What did you think? Do you use any other salt scrubs? Anything you can recommend? Let me know!

The Body Shop Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask Review

I brought this in my Body Shop Haul. I love the body shop, especially when they have amazing deals on. It’s a good opportunity to buy things you’re new to because If you don’t end up liking it (which is hardly ever!) then you haven’t really lost out. But this is a mask I’ve used before, and I thought to myself, why haven’t I reviewed this yet?

This revitalising clay mask cleanses skin and controls excess oil

×Draws out impurities
×Clarifying
×Refreshing

Application
Apply a thin layer, leave for 10 minutes and rinse off. Use up to twice weekly.

Review
I really love this mask. One thing that annoys me about some face masks is how watery they can be, but this one is quite thick and applies beautifully. It dries quickly, nothing I hate more then waiting around for a mask to dry for ages! You don’t need alot too to cover your face. A tub always lasts for ages. I try and use this once a week, and it hardly looks like I’ve used any! It isn’t a farse to take off either, easily washes off with warm water and leaves my skin feeling soft.

Conclusion
For £13 for a 100ml tub I think it’s a good price. Especially since it lasts ages. I also love face mask that are in tubs. I think it makes it easier to apply and you don’t squeeze out too much and waste product. I’ll definitely repurchase!

Have you tried this face mask? What did you think? Any face mask you are loving lately? Let me know!

July Empties

Good afternoon beauties! I haven’t had a very good weekend unfortunately! I’ve had a horrible tooth ache since Thursday which isn’t going away, pain killers aren’t touching it anymore, so I’m going to the out of hours dentists today! I hope it’s nothing bad, wish me luck!

image

So another month another batch of empties! These months seem to be getting shorter and shorter! So I think I’ve done pretty well again! It’s always hair products I always use up the fastest I find! Takes me forever to use up make up! But I’m just glad I remembered to keep them instead of them going in the bin!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Cool &  Creamy Wash

image

I did a full review of this product here. I’ve really loved using this little gem up. It woke me up every morning, and if your not a morning person like me, you need a pick me up! The tea tree tingles my skin awake. I’d definitely buy this again.

The Body Shop Ginger Anti Dandruff Shampoo

image

I did a full review on this here. This isn’t the bottle I brought in my last body shop haul, I brought this ages ago and it’s lasted so long. I have a problem with  dry scalp and this really keeps it at bay. I recently started using another Shampoo to test out and my dry scalp came back, but after a few washes with this it was completely gone. That will teach me to stray… I have another bottle of this already and I’ll continue to use it!

Benefits POREfessional Primer

image

I did a full review on this here. I’ve loved using this primer, and I’m really debating on buying the full size. Yeah it’s alot of money and that’s the one thing that’s holding  me back (and the fact I’m currently trying out Maybelline baby skin primer) but it really does work with the pores on my nose! I think it’s worth the money personally.

Avon Naturals Complete Recovery Treatment Mask

image

I did a full review of this here. I got a few uses out of this and for the money i paid it’s a pretty decent product. I still prefer my Blissfully Nourishing Hair Mask by Avon (which is what I originally ordered but because they were out of stock I was sent this instead) but it was nice to try out!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream

image

I used this cream in the morning before putting my make up on. I’ve had this for quite a while and never got around to using it, but when I ran out of my usual day cream I found this in a draw of things I got from beauty subscriptions and never used, it was a wonderful surprise. I have so many creams to use at the moment so I’m not sure if I’ll be buying it any time soon but potebtiobally in the future!

That’s my empties for July! See you next month for August’s empties!

Have you used any if these products? What did you think? Would you repurchase them? Let me know!
