The Body Shop Warming Mineral Mask Review

Hello beauties! I hope you are all good. So I’ve had this mask in my draw for a few months from one of my many The Body Shop Hauls and only recently got around to using it. I actually got this as a free gift from The Body Shop because I took out one of their loyalty cards.

image

This cleansing mask for all skin types warms on contact with wet skin. It leaves skin clean and revitalised.

Application
Use after cleansing and toning. Wet skin and apply a generous layer to the face, avoiding the lip and eye areas. Leave for five minutes, then rinse off with warm water. Use once or twice weekly after cleansing.

Review
This clay mask is very thick and heats up as soon as your start massaging it into your wet face. The heat is a lovely sensation, even on those warmer summer nights! Just think how awesome it would be in the winter! Reminder to myself, buy some more for the winter if I run out!

image

The heat doesn’t last forever and cools down after a while. The mask doesn’t drys, which I prefer because I find its harder to remove masks when they dry to your skin, and sometimes leaves me with dry patches!
After five minutes I removed it with warm water. It removes so easily, as I had expected. My skin felt fresh and cleansed after. The only downside is that it did dry out my nose a little bit, which is a bit dissapoining. I know this mask isn’t made to keep your skin hydrated, but it certainly made my skin feel cleansed.

Conclusion
I wouldn’t advise using this if you have very dry skin, as it would dry it out even more. For my oily bit it complete stripped the oil from my skin. So if you have combination skin like myself, make sure you have a good moisturiser to use after for those pesky dry areas! I used The Body Shop Vitamin E Sink In Moisture Mask after because it’s quick to use so didn’t take up too much time using another mask.

Birchbox May First Impressions

Hello beauties! I hope you’re all good. This weekend I went to the Birmingham Foodies Festival. All the food was amazing, it was such a good day. If the festival is coming anywhere near you, I highly recommend it!

image

This month Birchbox have had a bit of a make over. They have announced their editorial theme ‘Free Your Mind’ they have a new booklet which tells you about your products, some tutorials, competitions, new on Pick Your Sample and more! So lets get onto what I received, and what I didn’t receive also!

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Tinted Moisturiser in Light

image

As skincare obsessives, there’s nothing we love more than a moisturiser with added benefits so when we heard that Caudalie had created an innovative new product combining our beloved Vinoperfect range with a little complexion coverage we were sold. The ultimate ‘all-in-one’ product, this oil-free formula not covers imperfections but cares for your skin day after day: dark spots will fade, you skin’s natural radiance will shine, and you complexion will never have looked more even!

image

Tinted moisturisers isn’t something i tend to use alot, as I like to have a medium to full coverage. It has a great applicator though which I’ve pictured above. Makes it easier to get the right amount out of the tube instead of having a massive blob which your not gonna use. The cream is quite thick, but soaks into your skin quite quickly. Smells quite nice too! Might have to try this for when I go to the gym. This is a 15ml sample. Full size is 40ml worth £27.

Wah London Nail Polish in Dry Throat

image

Demure neutrals are manicure must-haves, but for a much-needed mani shake-up, try these eye-catching polishes from WAH London, Beyond the gorgeous hues, the long-lasting formula glides on super smoothly for an ultra glossy finish and acts as the perfect starting point to our nail art adventures.

I’ve actually never heard of this brand before which is great as this is the reason I subscribe to these boxes! You might be thinking… Why is it called dry throat? It was named Dry Throat after a trip to Morocco where the designer saw desert sands everywhere. This ochre colour takes its inspiration from North Africa and the colour of dry land. It’s a lovely colour and the brush looks great. Can’t wait to try it out! This is a full sized 6.5ml polish worth £9

Parlor by Jeff Chastain Moisturising Sea Salt Spray

image

Beach hair is no longer reserved for long weekends. Bottling the effects of that salty air, this spray from NYC stylist Jeff Chastain offers instant volume and a tousled texture. Sweet almond extract infuses strands with softness, fullness, and brilliance, while vitamin-rich algae extract nourishes and protects the scalp. Adding to this spray’s addictive nature is the scent of ripe peach, fresh-cut grass, and white woods. All products from the line are safe for colour-treated hair and are free of sulfates, parabens, and gluten.

The first thing I like is that it’s safe for colour treated hair because i have coloured blonde hair! I’m curious about how moisturising it is because of bleaching my hair, it obviously is quite dry! I’m looking forward to trying this one out! This is a 30ml bottle, full size is 147ml worth £17

Absolution Youth Activator Mask

image

Wonderful things can happen when you combine effective ingredients and beautiful design. Example A is for Absolution. Certified organic, this unisex line of skincare products is an easily combined range that can be adjusted to suit the needs of your skin on any particular day. Absolution Youth Activator Mask is an intense moisturising treatment that replenishes the skin’s water and restores its natural barrier, containing young alfalfa shoot extract, which rich in proteins, vitamins, minerals and trace elements. Skin will appear more radiant, smooth and plump.

Now the weather is getting drier my skin is starting to get patchy again, so this is going to be really useful for me. The moisture is rather watery and smells quite odd, but it’s not a leave on moisturiser so the smell doesn’t stay around. This is a 15ml sample size.  Full size is 50ml worth £29

I was supposed to have a Jelly Pong Pong Bronzer too but unfortunately that was missing. I’m not one for bronzing anyway so it’s not like it will be missed! Overall I think this is an okay box. We have a wide range of products which is good. I hate just getting skin care products in boxes which you find with some subscriptions.

If you’re interested in subscribing to Birchbox, use my referral link and each of our accounts will be credited with £5 to use in the birchbox shop!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Sink In Moisture Mask Review

Hello beauties! I hope you’re all well. So with these high winds we have been having lately, my skin has been especially dry lately. This mask has been my best friend. I purchased this in a recent The Body Shop Haul.

image

Sink some antioxidant Vitamin E into your skin. Bring skin back to optimum moisture level with this intensely hydrating mask.

Application
Smooth a thin layer onto dry, clean skin with your fingers. Leave for 10 minutes. You may feel a slight cooling sensation. Then simply wipe away with a tissue.

Review
This mask is like a thin facial cream. It doesn’t dry onto your face like a usual mask would, which is great if you have dry skin like me at the moment. It smells amazing too, like really amazing… So much so when I first tried it I had my nose in it for 10 minutes before putting it on! The thing I love about this is that because it doesn’t dry onto your skin like other masks, it’s so easy to remove! I just use a cloth to remove mine. This opens up more opportunities to actually use it. I can use it before work if I have a little extra time to wait around, because you haven’t got the time consuming job of removing it after!

It’s very cooling too. I can imagine it being so soothing in the summer when your house is like an oven, or you have had a stressful day at work. It leaves your skin feeling so so soft. Like a babies bottom if you will! You don’t need to use alot either. Because it’s so thin, it spreads beautifully so a tub lasts a while. This product currently retails at £13 for a 100ml tub. You can check it out on The Body Shop’s website here.

Conclusion
Although I do love this product and I think it’s amazing, I do have some concerns for people with sensitive skin. Looking at the ingredients there are so many fragrance ingredients which we all know irritates skin. My skin isn’t irritated easily so I’m alright, but if you have especially sensitive skin I could maybe look elsewhere. But that’s my only gripe with this product to be honest.

Vitamin E is amazing. It’s one of the most powerful antioxidant vitamins you can put on your face! With that, you’d think this mask is nothing short of amazing. I use this about 3 times a week to keep my skin feeling soft. That works great for me. I’ve noticed that you can’t really use this once a week and have soft skin all week, so this isn’t no mirical cure to dry skin, you need to keep on top of it!

Have you tried this mask? What did you think? Can you recommend any masks for me to use? Let me know!

Soap & Glory No Clogs Allowed Super Self-Heating Deep Pore Detox Mask Review

I brought this in my Boots Haul. I love Soap & Glory products. I’m hardly ever disappointed with them, and they usually have some sort of offer on then in Boots! Which always hurts my bank account..

image

No Clogs Allowed™ is perfect for weekly use on areas prone to blackhead build-up, or more often as a deep-oil-emulsifying, detoxifying face mask and all-round scrubby WONDER!

Application
Once a week. Shake bottle before use. Massage a grape-sized dab of No Clogs Allowed™ onto your face, then wet your hands and scrub until it turns blue and you feel heating. After 5 minutes, rub it all off with a warm, wet washcloth.

Review
The consistency of this mask is strange. It’s like a mud mask, but thinner. It also has quite large exfoliating breads which I also found quite strange. The first thing I will say about this product if anyone does want to try it, make sure you shake the bottle! If you don’t, the mask will be separated and come out watery and gooey, which you don’t want!
When first applying the product to my face, it instantly started to heat up. It was quite warm, but not overly warm that it was uncomfortable. Once my face was covered, I soaked my hands and worked the product into my face. It instantly started to heat up again. The beads desolved into my face and the once white mask turned blue.
After leaving the product on my face for 10 minutes (I know it says 5 but I always loose track of time, I was watching Arrow at the time!) I washed the mask off with a warm washcloth. I  dried my face and it felt very clean. My usual oily T-Zone was was stripped of oil. Unfortunately, the parts of my face that aren’t oily were quite dry. The next time I used this, I only applied it to my T-Zone and it worked perfectly.

Conclusion
You can get this from Boots for £11.50 but they usually have some offers on their Soap & Glory products. It’s not the biggest tube at 100ml, but since I’m going to be only using it on my T-Zone, I feel it’s not such a bad price and will last a while. If you have dry skin, I highly recommend you don’t use this. If you have oily or combination skin, this will be good for you, but only if you use it where you have problems with oil.

Have you ever tried this product? What did you think? What over Soap & Glory products do you love? Let me know!

Schaebens Face Mask Review

image

Hello beauties! I received these masks in my beauty swap with Reify. You can check out what i received in my beauty swap in my part 1 & part 2.

Review
Intensive Reinigung
This translated from German is intensive cleaning, and boy is it! It is a clay based mask with exfoliating beads to help scrub your skin clean. The first thing I noticed while applying this is the unusual smell. It wasn’t very pleasant I must say, but if it does the job I don’t really care! A packet was more then enough for your entire face. It dried quite quickly too. The only thing that annoyed me about this was how hard it was to get off. But I can look over that, because when I finally did, my skin felt amazing. So clean and soft. I only wish I had more!

Mit Algen
This is a seaweed face mask is for blemished and problematic skin. My nose was thankful that this one didn’t smell at all! Reify warned me that it might sting a little, but she assured me it doesn’t irritate your skin, and it didn’t. The stinging didn’t last for long, just a couple of minutes. Like the other one, there is more then enough for one application, I’m getting two out of these! The formula isn’t as thick as the other mask which makes it easier to remove, which is always something I’m happy with! I washed it off with warm water and I got the rest of with a cloth. My skin felt so clean after drying off my face. After moisturising my skin was certainly happy!

Conclusion
Overall I’m very happy with these masks. Especially the Intensive Reinigung because I feel like it made more of a difference to my skin, even if it did smell a bit! I love these because you can get two uses out of them, so it’s value for money! Alot of face masks I’ve brought like this,  they usually have just enough for a full coverage of your face, so I was really impressed by this having so much product in each sachet.

What’s your favorite face mask? Have you tried any of these? Let me know!

Soap & Glory The Fab Pore 2 in 1 Pore Purifying Mask & Peel Review

image

image

I brought this in my Boots &  Superdrug Haul. I love Soap & Glory products, I’ve never had one that’s dissapointed me.

Application
Massage The Fab Pore into your face and concentrate on your T zone. Clog prone? Leave 5 minutes for a quick refresher or 15 minuites for an extreme clean. Rinse well, and follow with moisture/treatment cream. Repeat as needed (1-3 times weekly)

Review
The first thing I noticed while putting it on was it makes my skin tingle a little, and it kinda smells like mints! It has tiny exfoliating beads to scrub your face while you’re applying. It’s clay based but it doesn’t actually set like a clay mask usually would, so you can properly work this into your skin to exfoliate. The thing I hate about clay mask is that your can’t move your face once they are starting to dry, but this one is totally different. I feel I can have this on for 15 minutes without getting annoyed with it, and I did have it on for 15 minutes without getting annoyed. It took me literally a minute to take it off. I hate scrubbing at my face when a face mask is just too thick and won’t come off without me taking a layer of skin off and ruining a Muslin cloth. That’s another thing, this stuff won’t stain your cloths. The amount of cloths I’ve had to throw away because I just can’t get the stains out from other masks annoys me. But because this is so light it washes off so easily. It left my skin feeling so clean and soft, I’ve never used anything like it!

Conclusion
Although it is a little tub at 50ml for £10, you only need a little bit each time. So I feel that it’s going to last a while. At least a couple of months if I was to use it every week. The benefits are amazing, my skin felt mattified and my skin felt cleaner. I’m really impressed with this so I’ll definitely be repuchasing this.

The Body Shop Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask Review

I brought this in my Body Shop Haul. I love the body shop, especially when they have amazing deals on. It’s a good opportunity to buy things you’re new to because If you don’t end up liking it (which is hardly ever!) then you haven’t really lost out. But this is a mask I’ve used before, and I thought to myself, why haven’t I reviewed this yet?

This revitalising clay mask cleanses skin and controls excess oil

×Draws out impurities
×Clarifying
×Refreshing

Application
Apply a thin layer, leave for 10 minutes and rinse off. Use up to twice weekly.

Review
I really love this mask. One thing that annoys me about some face masks is how watery they can be, but this one is quite thick and applies beautifully. It dries quickly, nothing I hate more then waiting around for a mask to dry for ages! You don’t need alot too to cover your face. A tub always lasts for ages. I try and use this once a week, and it hardly looks like I’ve used any! It isn’t a farse to take off either, easily washes off with warm water and leaves my skin feeling soft.

Conclusion
For £13 for a 100ml tub I think it’s a good price. Especially since it lasts ages. I also love face mask that are in tubs. I think it makes it easier to apply and you don’t squeeze out too much and waste product. I’ll definitely repurchase!

Have you tried this face mask? What did you think? Any face mask you are loving lately? Let me know!
