TRESemme Renewal Hair & Scalp Trio Review

Hello beauties! I hope you’re all well! So I first got exposed to this TRESemme product through my December Glossybox. I got the Nourish & Renew Tonic in my box, and I always had trouble with my dry scalp so I thought I would purchase the shampoo and conditioner to go with it.

Why Use The Renewal Hair & Scalp System? Helps nourish the scalp and renews your hair, leaving it beautiful from start to finish. With tea tree extract and sunflower seed oil, the salon quality formulas help by nourishing the scalp at the surface cellular level. The result is soft, manageable hair and a healthy feeling scalp.

The thing I love about this shampoo is that it lathers up so well. Not too much that I find it hard to actually wash out, but enough that I feel it’s actually doing some good. I’ve been using this for a couple of months now, and I find I can go a few more days then usual between washes. The shampoo is just as creamy as the conditioner which I love. The conditioner is amazing too. I’ve found that I don’t need to use as much oils to keep my hair nourish since using these products. The tonic helps nourish your scalp and is applied to damp hair directly to your scalp. My scalp has never felt so clean and nourished. This shampoo doesn’t state that it’s designed for coloured hair, but my blonde locks don’t look brassy from using this at all, which is always a plus! I still keep up with a blue shampoo every now and again to keep on top of it, but I think I’ve found my perfect shampoo in TRESemme.

Will I be buying this trio again? Definetly! I feel like I use less conditioner then i usually would because the shampoo is just as creamy and leaves my hair quite soft. I hate when your using a shampoo and conditioner set and you run out of conditioner before shampoo. With this I feel like I’m getting my money worth because it stretches quite far, and TRESemme always come in very large bottles which I love because my hair is quite thick and I always run out quickly!

What shampoo are you using at the moment? Have you used this TRESemme shampoo yet? Let me know!

February Birchbox First Impressions

Hello beauties! I hope you’re all well. So this month’s Birchbox felt quite heavy, which i always love! I know you tend to get more samples with Birchbox, but they have been great lately with their samples sizes!

With it being February, this boxes theme is love! It goes way beyond being limited to one day for valentines day, they’re talking about the things we love the whole month through. This month’s box contains skin saving creams, beautifying hair treatments, and a make up brand that they are very excited about. So lets get to what I received!

London Butterflies Whipped Body Cream

We pay plenty of attention to the skin on our face, but often forget about the rest of our body. Thankfully London Butterflies has exactly what your limbs need. Packed with nourishing ingredients like jasmine, starflower and almond oil, it sinks in quickly to rehydrate the skin and leave it super soft. Plus, the ultra indulgent scent has been specially created to relax both your body and mind.

I’d love to be able to comment on the smell of this, but I can’t smell a thing at the moment with this horrendous cold. However, I’ve tried a little bit on my hand and it soaked into my skin so quickly, I was quite impressed! And it’s a pretty decent size too! It’s a 30ml sample which I will get a few uses out of. The glass jar is very nice and it feels expensive. Full size is 170ml for £37.

TheBalm Cosmetics Stainiac in Beauty Queen

This two-in-one lip and cheek stain gives us a natural, understated flush and helps us get out the door faster! The gel formula looks dark in the tube but delivers a sheer tint. The tinted gel leaves a lasting stain on lips and cheeks. Since it’s water-based, it has a longer setting time than most quick-dry stains, which means it won’t leave any unsightly streaks behind as long as you take care to blend well. Use a single coat for a subtle look or layer it on for a more visible (yet still discreet) hue.

I’ve always stayed away from cheek stains. I don’t know why i just don’t like the idea of them. I’m trying to stay away from pinks with my blusher as I feel warmer tones suit me more.. But I’m looking forward to using this as a lip stain! This is a 1.2ml sample. Full size is worth £10 but doesn’t state how big a full size is.

Cynthia Rowley Beauty Eyeliner

Everyone has that forward-looking friend who can push them to take a style leap. We feel that way about fashion designer Cynthia Rowley. Having already proven her mettle as the creator of a high-performance makeup line, she’s breaking new ground with these playful yet stylish liners. These creamy pencils glide on velvety-smooth, and the smudge-proof formula lasts all day. In on-trend shades like rose gold and shimmery brown, they’re helping us push the beauty envelope—and the results are nothing short of eye-opening.

I’m so glad I got the black Eyeliner and not the silver. I’m not much or an experimenter with coloured eyeliners. I’ve got a stock pile of eyeliners to try out so it’s probably gonna take me a while to get to this one. This one is very creamy which I look for in an Eyeliner. This is a 0.3oz sample and looking on Birchbox website a full size is 0.04oz so not far off full size! Full size is worth £11

Liz Earle Beauty Co Botanical Shine Shampoo

Taking the same approach to hair as she has to skin, Liz Earle Botanical Shine Shampoo can be used on all hair types. Containing over 89% natural ingredients, the shampoo promises to cleanse and nourish hair in the same way as a traditional shampoo without any nasties.

I have only experienced Liz Earle skincare products, so when I found out this was a shampoo, I was immediately interested. If their shampoo is as good as their skincare products, my hair in for a treat. This is a 50ml sample. Full size is 200ml worth £10.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum

A highly concentrated, oil-free serum that improves the appearance of dark spots, promotes even skintone, and boosts radiance. What it is formulated to do: Highly concentrated with naturally powerful Viniferine, this satiny serum reduces the appearance of existing dark spots such as acne marks, scars, and damage revealing a brighter, more even complexion. What it is formulated WITHOUT: – Parabens – Sulfates – Phthalates

I have a few serums to get through but this is the first serum sample I’ve encountered in a tube which surprised me when I read what it was. I used a little on my hand and the only way I can describe it is a watered down moisturiser. Obviously I haven’t tried it properly yet to have a full opinion, but I did notice how quickly it sinked into my skin. This is a 10ml sample. Full size is 30ml worth £45. I think it’s a pretty good size considering full size is 30ml!

Vita Coco Coconut Oil (lifestyle extra)

Vita Coco, the company who first brought us delicious tasting coconut water, now brings to our shores its own brand of 100% Organic Coconut Oil. Cold pressed from Organic coconuts, 100% raw and extra virgin, this new addition to the Vita Coco Family is the perfect cooking oil and goes a long way to rescuing dry skin and hair – that’s why people swear by it!

I do love a good versatile product, but this is a weird one! On the packaging it says Eat it, Wear it, Swear by it. That got me interested! Even with this horrendous cold I can smell the coconuts, I did want to eat it! This is one of the vets lifestyle extras I’ve ever got. I’m so excited to try it out in all of its aspects!

So that’s my February Birchbox! I’m so happy with everything. Everything was a very good sample size and the lifestyle extra made it! I’m gonna get use out of everything which is always a bonus with these beauty subscription boxes. I’m actually looking for another box to subscribe to, so if you have any other suggestions of boxes to try (I already have Glossybox and you beauty  discovery box) let me know!

If you’re interested in subscribing to Birchbox, use my referral link and each of our accounts will be credited with £5 to use in the birchbox shop!

What did you get in this month’s box? Have you tried anything from my box? What did you think? Let me know!

January Birchbox First Impressions

Hello beauties! So I got Birchbox’s first box of the year and this month and it’s all about women’s health!

This month’s box is very exciting because they have joined forces with the experts and editors to bring you both products and content that will help you start the new year with your best foot forward.

Stila Lip Glaze

A converted, suits all complexions colour. This sheer gloss is a cult classic for a reason!

I’ve wanted to try Stila for a long time, every time I walk past their stand in Boots I always have a quick look. I’m not really one for lip glazes but I’ll I’m always open to new products! This is a 1.5ml sample. The full size is 2.4ml so it’s a pretty good sample size. The shade I received is called Gleam which is a lovely shimmery pink. It comes in 36 shades which all look totally wearable. Full size costs £15

Philip Kingsley Body Building Conditioner

Transform lifeless locks and help seal flyaways with this lustrous, wheat peotein conditioner.

I love Philip Kingsley products. I’m always up for trying out more of their range, and wheat is so good for your hair. I read once that models sometimes soak their hair in beer because of all the wheat in it.. Not that if want to try to because I’d smell like a brewery! This is a 20ml sample size which will probably only do my hair about 2 times. Sizes range from 75ml at £8.50 to 1000ml at £45.

Ren Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask

Radiance in a tube! A fast working, exfoliating treatment that improves texture, tone and combats congestion.

The one thing I am missing from my samples is a new mask to try out, so I was glad to receive this one. One of my new years resolution is to use more masks because I hardly ever use them. This is a 10ml sample, full size is 50ml at £30. This brand promotes clean skincare products, so they don’t contain any paraben, sulphates, mineral oil, petrolathum, synthetic fragrances, synthetic colours, T.E.A, D.E.A, glycols silicones and Pegs Et Al.

HealGel Intensive

Protect and restore skin with infusion of organic silicones, collagen boosting peptides and arnica.

This is a multi-purpose skin rescue gel packed full of active ingredients which work to restore, protect and soothe the skin. It takes me a while to get through creams because I have so many of them through thea  subscriptions. But I am interested by its claims of being scientifically-designed with complexes such as arnica and madecassoside which reduce puffiness and discolouration whilst soothing irritations and reducing sensitivity. This is a 5ml sample. Full size is 30ml at £37.50.

Activbod Cooling Finish Lotion

Re-energise after a work with this invigorating, menthol packed lotion.

Not gonna lie.. I don’t work out. It’s never really been something that’s interested me. I always used to say that I was going to join the gym, but I never did, so not sure how much use I’m gonna get out of this. Maybe in the summer? Let me know cause I’m pretty clueless to products like this. This is a 20ml sample. Full size is 100ml at £12.

Embrace Matcha Green Tea

Our new favourite superfood, Matcha is 100% natural with 10 times the antioxidants of regular green tea.

More tea samples! I really don’t like tea. More of a coffee person myself, so this is going to someone that enjoys teas!

Lifestyle Extra

I also for this pilates band! I’m not too familiar with pilates.. Again I’m not really into the whole gym thing, but it says it’s used for toning, increasing strength and improves muscle endurance with the stretchy resistance band. Not sure if I’m ever going to use this.. But if I ever decide to become a gym person I will have it handy.

So that’s all my products this month’s from Birchbox! All sample sizes this month, but they are all from high end brands which is good. I’m really excited to use the Ren mask and the Philip Kingsley conditioner so all in all, a petty good box! I think some of the fitness things might go to friends as I wouldn’t really get much use out of them, and the green tea I’ll donate to someone!

If you’re interested in subscribing to Birchbox, use my referral link and each of our accounts will be credited with £5 to use in the birchbox shop!

L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Review

Hello beauties! I received this hair oil on my September Glossybox. It’s taken me a while to actually to around to using it became I’m so devoted to my Avon Advanced Techniques Morrocan Argan Oil. Once I get into a routine of using a product it’s hard for me to stop!

Mythic Oil is a complete collection of customised oil blends & oil-enriched haircare, which leaves hair looking shiny, feeling supple and smelling divine. The Mythic Oil journey began in 2011 with the launch of our amazingly versatile Original Oil. Before long, the range expanded to include Mythic Oil Milk, Colour Glow Oil and Rich Oil – each of which is designed to target specific haircare needs.  The award-winning Mythic Oil haircare range launched last summer and comprises a luxurious shampoo, conditioner & hair masque.  And now, L’Oréal Professionnel are delighted to unveil the dazzling new Souffle d’Or shampoo and conditioner duo,  which are infused with Argan Oil & Safflower Oil, and golden shimmering sparkles to leave your hair looking incredibly shiny with an airy touch.

There has been a lot of hype around this product. I remember reading some of the beauty blog community’s unboxing on September Glossybox and people were so excited to try it out. I already had a staple oil in my collection so I wasn’t so hyped about it to be honest. In case some of you don’t know, I have thick bleached blonde hair that passes my shoulders by a couple of inches, I tend to use straighteners only when I really need to which is mostly for the hair around my face and my fridge, so product like this are key to keeping my hair soft.
As you can see from the picture it’s your standard hair oil packaging with the pump action which is very popular. The consistency of the product is alot thinner then I’m used to. My Avon hair oil is much thicker which I’ve grown used to. The one upside to this is that i used less product in one application. I use around two pumps for my hair. I tend to split my hair in half and use one pump for each side. Although if you have thinner/shorter hair then me you will only need one.
Oils like this are only meant for the ends of your hair. This is because your ends suffer the most abuse, but also it’s because your hair gets it’s nutriment and all the good stuff from the blood. When you have longer hair, all those oils and nutriment don’t get to the end of your hair. That is the ends are usually less healthy than the top.
I use this sort of oil on towel dried hair. I’m not totally sure if that’s how this product is supposed to be used, but it’s how I’ve used all my hair oils, and it works for me. It makes my hair easier to brush too which is always great, no one likes pulling their hair out when brushing their hair! Having such thick hair, if a product makes my hair feel heavier I instantly hate it. This thankfully felt weightless in my hair. Once dried my hair feels smooth and manageable. I wash my hair twice a week because it doesn’t really go greasy with the bleach, and I don’t like to wash it too often because it makes my hair even drier, so I still need to use dry end serum between washing.

I’ve enjoyed using this hair oil. I am pretty loyal to my Avon argan oil, so I can’t say I’ll be swapping it for this any time soon. I think it’s because I prefer the thicker consistency of the Avon one. I know I use more of the Avon one because of this, but I think it leaves my hair in better condition then the L’Oréal one. But if Avon ever stop doing theirs, I’ll know where to look!

Have you tried this hair oil? What did you think? Let me know!

Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Review

I brought this set in a Boots Haul I did a while ago and only recently got around to using it. I’ve been trying to actually finish shampoos before starting on a new one. My bathroom was starting to get rather cluttered!

Dry hair requires deep nourishment to maintain its fine balance of key oils and proteins. Restore your hair’s healthy levels of moisturisation with the Charles Worthington Moisture Seal range for an amazingly soft and silky red-carpet appearance.

I have a problem with dry hair from bleaching it. As soon as I saw this shampoo on offer i needed to try it. I’ve tried over Charles Worthington products and really liked them. One thing I look for in a shampoo is how much it lathers up. I have really think hair, and a lot of it! I don’t want to have to use half the bottle to wash my hair properly because it won’t lather up enough, but I haven’t had any problems with this and it rinses out easily which is again great when you have thick hair. I’ve read a few reviews that say the opposite to me which i find strange.. Maybe I’m used to shampoos that don’t lather up at all! Or they have changed the formula.. It’s also great for coloured hair which is always good. Ive noticed my hair looks so shiny and vibrant since using this. It tended to get quite dull with my other shampoos that claimed to be for coloured hair, but with this it feels like I went to the salon yesterday. It’s infused with Argan oil which helps moisturise and healing your hair. The masque is a real treat for your hair, and a really good size at 160ml! I’m used to using these up in about 4 uses but I think so far I’ve used it about 6 times with another use still left. This stuff really stretches. My hair is so easy to brush after, it falls through my hair brush instead of me having to pull it through.

Would I buy this again? If I was in a hurry and it was on offer at the time. I got this in a 3 for 2 offer which is a really good deal, otherwise they are £5.99 each. When I buy shampoos I tend to just buy the ones in the offers, and I’ve actually brought a new TRESemme set which I’m looking forward to trying out.

Have you tried this Charles Worthington shampoo and conditioner set? What did you think? Let me know!

Toni & Guy Shine Gloss Serum Review

I can’t remember when i got this but I’m pretty sure it’s from one of my Glossybox’s. It must of been before I even started blogging back in may because I can’t see it in any posts I’ve done, but I’ve only got round to using it recently. I’m trying to find a serum that’s even better then my staple hair serum Avon Advanced Techniques Daily Shine Dry End Serum.

TONI&GUY HairMeetWardrobe is thrilled to announce an exclusive new designer partnership with the fashion force Lulu Kennedy who helped TONI & GUY dress up four best selling products. Toni&Guy Classic Shine Gloss Serum controls frizz with lightweight shine and alignment.
Its new graphic is Lulu’s interpretation of a classic design that will never go out of fashion.

My first gripe with this product is the packaging. I like to see how much I have left of a product so I’m not caught out if I pump and nothing comes out. It’s also been leaking which leaves the bottle quite sticky. It doesn’t make a very good first impression. But let’s get onto the actual product. It’s quite a thin consistency which I’m not used to having used my Avon serum for so long. It’s great for when you have blowdried your hair and you have those strands of hair that and flying away. I also love using it after straightening to make my hair look sleek. I use two pumps of this since I hair is so thick, but if you have short this hair you would only need one. I’d love to comment on how long this has lasted me, but I can’t see how much product is left. Although it’s a great serum for those pesky flyaways, it doesn’t give that Hydration to my ends. This is why I prefer Avons serum. It tackles those flyaways and leaves my hair hydrated in between washes.

If your hair is in good condition and you don’t need a serum that hydrates your hair, and only need it for flyaways then i would recommend this. If your hair is damaged and needs a boost every now and again then I’d look somewhere else. I’m not saying it’s a bad products, except for the packaging, it just doesn’t meet all of my personal needs.

Have you tried this hair serum? What did you think? What serums do you use? Let me know!

Syoss Oil-In-Cream Repair Mask Review

I got this in my beauty swap with Reify. I’ve never used any sort of Keratin product in my hair, so this was a new experience for me.

Instant Keratin Boost for 100% strength & Repair hair structure deep inside the hair cell
Smoothes the hair fiber for 100% suppleness
Nourishes the hair intensively for 100% gloss without weighing

As I don’t speak German, and the bottle was all in German, I kinda winged it! Reify left me a note on the bottle saying it needs to be taken off straight away. So I just soaked my hair and applied it to the ends. I worked it in and washed it off, and then carried on with my shampoo and conditioner.

I’ve been using this for a while now, and even my hair dresser noticed how long my hair had gotten since she had seen me last. I find that my hair never really grows, because it always snaps off. You never notice when your hair grown yourself, but my hair dresser did. My hair does seem more elasticated, when brushing my hair and i get a small knot, it bounces back instead of breaking off. All the claims this product deliver, except I didn’t really see any difference in the glossyness of my hair.

Will I buy this again? I certainly will if I can find it anywhere! I’m really impressed with this. When i saw my hair dresser, the first thing she said to me how my hair has grown more then usual, so that’s enough reason for me to want more!
