December Glossybox First Impressions

Hello beauties! So i have been away a lot lately. Partly because I’ve been getting ready for Christmas, and I just felt like a bit of time off! So I’ve had a pretty big back log of posts i need to write up, including this Glossybox First Impressions.

image

So obviously it being December, its a Christmas box! i received mine really early in the month which was really good. i guess Glossybox were trying too get them out of the way to break up for Christmas! So lets get onto what i received!

Skin Pep Hydra Boost Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum

image

Hydra Boost contains the clinically proven cell communicating ingredients, Hyaluronic acid, in a perfume free, alcoholic free, hypo allergenic formulation that will promote a healthy new skin glow.

Some of us received a Skin Pep sample in our September Glossybox which was the Brightening Enzyme Acid Peel . I wasn’t overly impressed with it to be honest but i am keeping an open mind with this one as its a different product. This is a 15ml sample which is a pretty good sample size considering that the other samples of Skin Pep we got were only sachets. Ive also noticed on the packaging that this product is also Paraben Free which is always good in my books! A full sized 70ml bottle will set you back £24.99

TreSemme Nourish & Renew Tonic

image

With tea tree extract and sunflower seed oil the salon quality tonic will instantly help nourish your scalp and renew your hair.

I love receiving hair products as i use a lot on my hair to keep it in good condition. I also suffer from dry scalp so this product is very welcome. This is a full sized 150ml item worth £5.50 i love TRESemme products so I’m sure i will love this one. Can’t wait to try it out!

All That Jazz Professional Nail Lacquer

image

All That Jazz UK is a brand that has a colour to suit everyone. The colours are set to fit any season or trend, they are extremely hard wearing and long lasting.

As soon as i saw this i thought it was the perfect shade for Christmas! It’s a glitter based polish with a slight red tinge to the gloss. The shade is called Kristina’s – Lipstick Is Our Obsession. This is a full sized 15ml bottle worth £9.98 I’ve made my money back from the TRESemme item and this, which is good! I have tried this out as i couldn’t wait and a full review will follow soon!

Bella Pierre Cheek & Lip Stain

image

Bella Pierre Cheek and Lip Stain is super blendable, 2 in 1, handbag hero to finish off any look

I haven’t ever used a stain for my cheeks so this will be new territory for me. The shade i received is Coral. The tub doesn’t say how many grams it is, but the full sized item is 5g and is worth £12.99 and i don’t think its much off 5g.

Anatomicals Zap! Zap! Zap! Gets That Chap. Day & Night Spot Stick

image

This double ended product is a real saviour. It has a day time formula and an evening formula to work on spots all day long.

I’ve revived items from this range before quite a while ago through Glossybox. I don’t get very many spots, but when i do they are big! I’ve currently been using a Superdrug own Tea Tree spot stick treatment which has been working wonders, so id love to know how this goes up against my current one! The only problem with reviewing this is id need to get a spot to review it, and i don’t really want that to happen! This is a full sized 7ml stick worth £3.79 loving all the full sized items from Glossybox this month!

So those are all my items this month! I’m happy with my products, but nothing really wowed me like previous boxes have. But at the same time, i have received a lot of full sized items so i cant really complain, and some good sample sizes. I’ve got my money back from all the products, but i would like to receive items from ranges I’m not too familiar with, like you seem to get with Birchbox. Full reviews will be available soon.

If you’re interested in subscribing to glossybox if you could use my referal link I get 200 glossybox points for every referal!

What did you receive this month? Anything you wish you had gotten, or not received? Let me know!

Skin Pep Brightening Enzyme & Acid Peel Review

I received this in my September Glossybox. I was scared to use it at first. I mean.. It has the word acid in the name! But, I got the courage to try it out.

image

Our professional salon grade protein dissolving natural enzyme derived gel uses extracts of Pineapple and Papaya.
We combine them with proven natural —Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) Glycolic acid and Lactic acid, to create a highly effective, yet gentle peeling gel. Use up to twice per week to leave exfoliated, soft, bright and beautiful skin.

Application
Apply a small amount of gel to damp face, neck or body and gently massage in for 1-2 minutes. Leave on for another 1-2 minutes and then wash off. Use up to twice weekly

Review
This peel is translucent and quite thick, as a peel usually is. It’s also really sticky, again as a peel usually is, which made it such a mess to applying. It seems a strange method to apply it to a damp face in my opinion. When I first applied the peel, it stung a little, it freaked me out for a second, but it subsided after like 20 seconds. After covering my whole face, I massaged it into my face and waited 5 minutes. This peel doesn’t dry to your face, it just sits on top of your face like jelly. After I worked it in and left it for 5 minutes i washed the product off with a warm washcloth. My skin felt really clean. It didn’t feel any softer then it usually would however.

Conclusion
This peel comes in various sizes.
3.5ml sachet : £3.99
15ml tube : £14.99
30ml tube : £29.99
180ml tube : £89.99
It’s quite expensive.. I mean.. If i could buy these 3.5ml sachets in my local drugstore as a treat when my face needed a good clean, I’d probably pick up one. I don’t think i would ever commit to a full sized product though. I’ve tried similar products that are much cheaper that bring results and aren’t gonna chemically strip your face. I can’t say I really like the idea of this to be honest. The one thing I do like about this product is that’s it’s Paraben Free. I’m trying to use products that don’t control paraben, so I’ll keep this in mind when choosing my skin care products.

Have you tried this product? What did you think? What peels have you tried? Let me know!

Model Co More Brows Fibre Gel

image

This innovative brush on fibre gel gives the appearance of fuller, thicker Brows instantly

I’ve never tried a gel based brow definer personally. I’ve always been a pencil girl myself but maybe this will be the bridge into my new found love for gel? Maybe.. This is a full size 3.5ml tube worth £14.95. I ended up giving this to a friend because it was way too dark for me.

L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil

image

This lightweight pip cards for and pampers all hair types.

I’ve been wanting to try this out because it’s gotten rave reviews. I’m pretty dedicated to my Avon Advanced Techniques Morocco Argan Oil, but it wouldn’t hurt to try this! This is a 45ml sample worth around £8

Skin Pep Enzyme & Acid Peel and Peeling Gel

image

Peeling Gel: this highly effective peeling  gel uses Pineapple and Papaya extracts to create gently exfoliated, soft and bright skin.

I got two samples of this. I’ve never heard of this brand before, but I guess this is what glossybox is about! The ‘Acid Peel’ in the title of this product kinda scares me..The sachets are both 3.5ml worth £3.05 full review is available here.

Eye Cream: this powerful dark circles eraser used anti oxidant ingredients to boost collagen in the delicate undereye area

This is a 2ml sample of this eye cream, I don’t think it’s really enough to see an actual difference to be honest. It takes a product up to 7-14 days to make any actual difference. I’ll give it a go obviously.. But I hate it when they send such small samples of products that promise big. This 2ml sample is worth £6.49

Nails Inc Westminster Bridge Matte Top Coat

image

This matte effect top coat gives toy two very different looks for every one of your nail polishes. The perfect way to add a ubiquitous twist to your favourite shades.

I was so glad to see this polish. I’ve been wanting to try a matte top coat for ages. This is a 10ml bottle worth £12

Kiss Haute Couture Lashes

image

Kiss Haute Couture’s natural looking strip lashes are lightweight and Wear comfortably into the night. The enclosed applicator is curved with a side grip allowing for full view of last, masking application amazingly easy.

I consider myself a bit of an expert when it comes to fake lashes.. I used to wear them everyday for like a year. But don’t do that girls, it really messes up your lashes! I’m really excited to try these out because I hardly wear them anymore. These lashes are worth £4.99.

Overall I’m happy with this month’s box. Everything will get used which can be the down side of these boxes. The contents of this box is worth just under £50 which is amazing, with a promise from glossybox that every box would be over £44. With the box just costing £13.95 it’s great value. My last box wasn’t that impressive at just over £30 when they promised every box would be over £33. They’re excuse was the sample sizes were totaled up as full size with the value which is stupid I think if you’re not getting a full sized item. I think they have learnt from there mistakes from the last box.

If you’re interested in subscribing to glossybox if you could use my referal link I get 200 glossybox points for every referal!
