The Body Shop Warming Mineral Mask Review

Hello beauties! I hope you are all good. So I’ve had this mask in my draw for a few months from one of my many The Body Shop Hauls and only recently got around to using it. I actually got this as a free gift from The Body Shop because I took out one of their loyalty cards.

This cleansing mask for all skin types warms on contact with wet skin. It leaves skin clean and revitalised.

Use after cleansing and toning. Wet skin and apply a generous layer to the face, avoiding the lip and eye areas. Leave for five minutes, then rinse off with warm water. Use once or twice weekly after cleansing.

This clay mask is very thick and heats up as soon as your start massaging it into your wet face. The heat is a lovely sensation, even on those warmer summer nights! Just think how awesome it would be in the winter! Reminder to myself, buy some more for the winter if I run out!

The heat doesn’t last forever and cools down after a while. The mask doesn’t drys, which I prefer because I find its harder to remove masks when they dry to your skin, and sometimes leaves me with dry patches!
After five minutes I removed it with warm water. It removes so easily, as I had expected. My skin felt fresh and cleansed after. The only downside is that it did dry out my nose a little bit, which is a bit dissapoining. I know this mask isn’t made to keep your skin hydrated, but it certainly made my skin feel cleansed.

I wouldn’t advise using this if you have very dry skin, as it would dry it out even more. For my oily bit it complete stripped the oil from my skin. So if you have combination skin like myself, make sure you have a good moisturiser to use after for those pesky dry areas! I used The Body Shop Vitamin E Sink In Moisture Mask after because it’s quick to use so didn’t take up too much time using another mask.

How to get your feet ready for spring!

Hello beauties! I hope you are all good. So spring is here and this is the time of year to get out your sandles and sunglasses and enjoy what sun we get! But there is one thing we have to prepare… And that’s our feet! We all do it.. We all forget about our feet in the winter. They are hidden away in closed shoes for months and months and we just forget to take care of them! I thought to myself last year that I was gonna try and take care of my feet throughout winter. I did.. For a couple of months.. And then totally forgot! But have no fear, I have wrote up this post so we can all get our feet ready for spring and in to those new sandals you just brought!

Hard Skin
Heels get thick skin in the winter. Before I shower I use the Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi Electronic Foot File. It’s great because it takes all the effort out of filing your feet. The file has a roller head that turns and you just apply a little pressure to remove any thick skin. Don’t press to hard though or it just stops! This is currently available at Boots for £29.99! It’s so worth it. So much better then those pumice stones, and less effort too!

Foot Scrub
I realise you aren’t gonna have time all the time to file down your dry skin.. Cause it does take a while! So in between treatment I use The Body Shop Peppermint Soothing Pumice Foot Scrub. The exfoliating volcanic rock granules help to slough away rough patches of hardened skin, to leave feet femininely soft, smooth and freshly fragrant. Perfectly prepared for those strappy sandals! You can get a 100ml tub for £7 which is pretty good…
and it smells amazing!

One product i have been loving lately is something I got some Christmas, which is Soap and Glory Heel Genius. I apply this at night after my shower and put some cotton socks on I got from Avon and go to bed! In the morning my feet feel amazingly soft. This is currently available at Boots for £5.50 for a 125ml tube which lates a while! Still haven’t gotten through mine yet!

Toe Hair!
Everyone has it, some more than others. You can remove toe hair any way you like.. depilatory, shave, wax, whatever works. Removing toe hair is one of those little things that can make your feet look smooth and polished!

After all that, all you have to do is paint your nails! That’s the fun part. What products have you been using to get your feet into shape ready for spring?

The Body Shop Vitamin E Sink In Moisture Mask Review

Hello beauties! I hope you’re all well. So with these high winds we have been having lately, my skin has been especially dry lately. This mask has been my best friend. I purchased this in a recent The Body Shop Haul.

Sink some antioxidant Vitamin E into your skin. Bring skin back to optimum moisture level with this intensely hydrating mask.

Smooth a thin layer onto dry, clean skin with your fingers. Leave for 10 minutes. You may feel a slight cooling sensation. Then simply wipe away with a tissue.

This mask is like a thin facial cream. It doesn’t dry onto your face like a usual mask would, which is great if you have dry skin like me at the moment. It smells amazing too, like really amazing… So much so when I first tried it I had my nose in it for 10 minutes before putting it on! The thing I love about this is that because it doesn’t dry onto your skin like other masks, it’s so easy to remove! I just use a cloth to remove mine. This opens up more opportunities to actually use it. I can use it before work if I have a little extra time to wait around, because you haven’t got the time consuming job of removing it after!

It’s very cooling too. I can imagine it being so soothing in the summer when your house is like an oven, or you have had a stressful day at work. It leaves your skin feeling so so soft. Like a babies bottom if you will! You don’t need to use alot either. Because it’s so thin, it spreads beautifully so a tub lasts a while. This product currently retails at £13 for a 100ml tub. You can check it out on The Body Shop’s website here.

Although I do love this product and I think it’s amazing, I do have some concerns for people with sensitive skin. Looking at the ingredients there are so many fragrance ingredients which we all know irritates skin. My skin isn’t irritated easily so I’m alright, but if you have especially sensitive skin I could maybe look elsewhere. But that’s my only gripe with this product to be honest.

Vitamin E is amazing. It’s one of the most powerful antioxidant vitamins you can put on your face! With that, you’d think this mask is nothing short of amazing. I use this about 3 times a week to keep my skin feeling soft. That works great for me. I’ve noticed that you can’t really use this once a week and have soft skin all week, so this isn’t no mirical cure to dry skin, you need to keep on top of it!

Have you tried this mask? What did you think? Can you recommend any masks for me to use? Let me know!

December Empties

Hello beauties! I can’t believe it’s December already, I remember new years last year like it was a couple of months ago. So I only tend to do an empties every other month because I’m so awful at actually using stuff up! I never like to post our a few things so I like to save up for a nice bit post!

I’ve got a good mixture of products this month, ranging from make up, Bath products to Skincare products. I’ve got quite a lot this month so lets get into what I’ve used up shall we?

I don’t know why I never use alot of make up. Maybe because I get bored of using one thing and I move onto the next.. But something I will always use up is foundation. The foundation I’m talking about is the Max Factor All Day Flawless 3-1 Foundation. I’ve done a full review of this that I’ve linked too. I’ve brought about three bottles and I’ve really loved it. It’s got a medium coverage, but it’s easily built up to a full coverage, it has concealer and primer fused in, and it lasts pretty well! But it’s time to move on! I’ve moved onto the Mac Studio Fix Fluid which I will be reviewing soon.

The next thing I used up is Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser. I’ve done a full review of this also. This is an easy on the purse primer. I did notice after a while of using it, it kinda dried my skin out after a while so I don’t think I’ll be buying this one again. I’m currently using Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer which I’m really enjoying and I’m finding that because it not a silicon primer, it’s hydrating my skin more.

Bath Products

I love my bath products. Anything that makes me feel more relaxed is right up my alley. I love bath oils, so I got through this little beauty Kenipp Pure Relaxation Bath Oil pretty quickly. It smells gorgeous but unfortunately not very moisturising to skin. I’m currently using another which is extremely moisturising so it makes up! I actually for this in a set from Reify who is from Germany in our Beauty Swap, and I’ve actually seen that they have this brand in this month’s You Beauty Discovery Box! I’d advise anyone to get it!

The next item in my empties list is Avon Sense Passion Exotic Show Gel. The thing that annoyed me about this is that it’s a bugger to actually open! But on the upside it smells amazing so I won’t hold it against Avon! It smells so floral, I can smell it in the bathroom for hours after I’ve been in!

The next thing I’ve used up is Simple Kind To Skin Soothing Facial Toner. I really try to take care if my skin, and toners are something i use everyday after washing my face. This is my second bottle of this now and it’s so cheap! You can get a 200ml bottle for a couple of quid. Toners restore the PH balance in your skin after you have washed it, so it’s always a good thing to use! I love simple as a brand. Definitely getting another.

You’ve seen me post about this and you know my views on it, I’m talking about the Benefit It’s Potent! Eye Cream. If you haven’t, I’ve linked it for you to check out. I received this in a Birchbox a while ago. I’m really disappointed with this because of the actual ingredients in it. Some people have commented saying they have had break out from this, and I’m not surprised with all the alcohol in this. I usually love benefit skincare products, and to be fair it is an alright moisturiser, but it just let’s it down with all the claims it makes when it’s just impossible with the lack of effective ingredients. I definitely won’t be buying this full size.

This is always a section in my empties that’s always going to be jam packed! Mostly because of the amount of products i use on my hair to maintain it, but also because I have so much hair! The first product I’m gonna be talking about is Syoss Oil-In-Cream Remedy Mask. I recently did a full review of this that I’ve linked if you want to check it out. As you can see, I squeezed everything I could possible get out of this tube! I’ve really loved this. This is a Keratin products that repairs the structure or your hair. The really crap thing about my hair is that because I bleach is, it tends to snap off alot. From this, I feel that it never actually gets any longer! But when I went to visit my hair dresser, she actually said how long my hair had gotten! You never notice yourself, but after she said it, I agreed! And other people have noticed too. I got this again from Reify in our beauty swap. I’m on the prowl for another tube! Really loved this. If you can get your hands on this, send me a tube!

You all know I love a good hair mask. I really need them with my hair to hydrate it from what the bleach takes out, so I’ve been using Avon Heavenly Hydration Hair Mask. I’ve done a full review of this linked if you want to check it out. I’ve used another Avon hair mask which is the Blissfully Nourishing Hair Mask. While looking through the latest Avon brochure, I couldn’t find it! Which is gutting because it smells amazing, which is the only thing missing from the Heavenly Hydration Hair mask. It leaves my hair feeling so soft so at least it’s not a total loss! I’ll be buying another tub of this!

I’ve been trying to get thorough some of my shampoos that i haven’t used up. I tend to start using a shampoo, and then I buy another type and use that instead and so on.. It’s a vicious circle. The first one I’ve been using up is The Body Shop Banana Shampoo. I don’t think I’ve ever done a review on this because I’ve had it sat in my bathroom so long unfinished. Banana is one of those smells like marmite. You either love it or you hate it, and I love it. It’s not the best shampoo ever, and that’s probably why I swapped it for another shampoo, but it does smell yummy!

My next shampoo is one I’ve been loving for a while now, which is The Body Shop Ginger Anti Dandruff Shampoo. When I first started this blog, this was one of the first thing I reviewed. I have alot of trouble with dry skin on my scalp, and this seems to be the only thing that battles it, although it’s not the best for the colour in my hair so I try not to use it all the time, just when I start to get an itchy scalp. I’ll definetly be purchasing another one. I’m on the prowl for a shampoo that battles dry skin and also is suitable for colour hair, so if you know of anything let me know!

And finally! Last, but certainly not least.. My old friend Avon Advanced Techniques Moroccan Argan Oil. I’ve done a full review of this that I’ve linked. Again, this is one of the first things that I actually reviewed on my blog. I use this after I’ve washed my hair, which makes it easier to brush and leaves it silky soft when I’ve dried my hair. I can’t count the amount of bottles I’ve had of this, but it’s alot! It’s around £4 for a 30ml bottle and it lasts be a couple of months, so for anyone with thin hair it’s gonna last you so much longer then that. This is definitely one of my staple haircare products and nothing has come close to this.

Phew! That was long! Maybe I shouldn’t do one of these every other month! If you’ve used anything I’ve used up please tell me what you thought of it too! Thanks for reading x

September Empties

I’ve been meaning to write this up for ages. Life has been hectic at the moment though. It’s my friends wedding on Saturday and I’m a bridesmaid. So much preparation! So please excuse my silence as of late.  I didn’t do a empties in October because I didn’t have much to actually do a post with.. But this month I’ve been trying to get through my shampoos that I haven’t finished, to make room for new ones.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Microdermabrasion

I’ve really enjoyed using this. It’s a really good exfoliators. It’s lasted me quite a few months. I used it once a week and it really kept my dry skin on my face at bay. Not so much under my eyes though. That needed extreme moisturizing. Would I buy this again? Probably if I was near a body shop and I needed one. But I have another exfoliators to try out.. I did a full review of this here.

Avon Planet Spa Blissfully Nourishing Hair Mask

This has featured in quite a few of my empties and I’m sure it won’t be the last time! I get about 3 uses out of this 200ml tub. It smells amazing. I’ll definitely be buying this again and again! I did a full review of this item here.

TRESemme Luxurious Moisture Conditioner

I don’t buy this Conditioner often. The only time I buy it is when I’ve ran out and I’m in a rush and I only have time to go to the tesco express up the road from me. It’s basically my ‘I’ve ran out of the Conditioner that goes with my shampoo’ Conditioner. I’m not much of a fan of the Shampoo but i love the Conditioner. Always makes my hair super soft.

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Colour Renew Tone Correcting Shampoo

I’m not sure how I feel about this Shampoo. Everytime I used it, I felt like my hair was getting greaser faster. The Conditioner is lovely, but I don’t think I’ll be buying this again. It did how ever keep my brassy tones at bay.

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer

I’m really getting into my Elasticizer type products at the moment. I’ve really noticed a difference with the amount of hair that’s snapping off or falling out reduce. I’m looking to buy a full size of this. I did a full review here.

Louis Galvin Sacred Locks Masque

I really liked this mask. It’s light, didn’t weigh my hair down and showed good results. I did a full review here. Would I buy this full size? Probably not. As my Avon Planet Spa Blissfully Nourishing Hair Mask does just as good a job at a fraction of the price.

So that’s my empties this month! Mostly hair products with isn’t a surprise with me because it takes me so long to get through make up because I always change products. I’m trying to get better at using products up, working progress!

Have you used any of these? What did you think? Let me know!

The Body Shop Spa Wisdom Africa Ximenia & Salt Scrub Review

I brought this in my Body Shop Haul. I’ve never really been much for salt scrubs, but since I had to make my money up to get the discount I thought I would give this a try.

This salt scrub is inspired by African tribal spa rituals. It moisturises as it exfoliates

Massage onto wet skin in the bath or shower. Rinse thoroughly.

I love the packaging of this. It’s so cute and reusable, and the tub is so big at 350ml, it’s going to last me forever! It says to massage onto wet skin, but I think it works better on dry skin. Not totally dry but I find that it doesn’t work as well if your skin is soaked. When I used it on wet skin it just seemed to disappear and it just seemed really pointless. It smells great and the texture is amazing. It’s not too rough on your skin and the cream in the scrub really moisturises. Left my skin so soft and polished.

I think this is a little bit expensive at £15. Saying that, you do get alot and I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and I feel like I have used hardly any. The Body Shop always have offers on, which is only when I really buy from them to be honest, so you can always get a good deal of things that you think are a bit expensive. The benefits of this scrub are amazing, as long as you use it on dry skin. It’s pretty pointless on wet skin. I have no idea why they tell you to use in wet skin.

You can check out this item on The Body Shop website here.

Have you used this salt scrub? What did you think? Do you use any other salt scrubs? Anything you can recommend? Let me know!

The Body Shop Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask Review

I brought this in my Body Shop Haul. I love the body shop, especially when they have amazing deals on. It’s a good opportunity to buy things you’re new to because If you don’t end up liking it (which is hardly ever!) then you haven’t really lost out. But this is a mask I’ve used before, and I thought to myself, why haven’t I reviewed this yet?

This revitalising clay mask cleanses skin and controls excess oil

×Draws out impurities

Apply a thin layer, leave for 10 minutes and rinse off. Use up to twice weekly.

I really love this mask. One thing that annoys me about some face masks is how watery they can be, but this one is quite thick and applies beautifully. It dries quickly, nothing I hate more then waiting around for a mask to dry for ages! You don’t need alot too to cover your face. A tub always lasts for ages. I try and use this once a week, and it hardly looks like I’ve used any! It isn’t a farse to take off either, easily washes off with warm water and leaves my skin feeling soft.

For £13 for a 100ml tub I think it’s a good price. Especially since it lasts ages. I also love face mask that are in tubs. I think it makes it easier to apply and you don’t squeeze out too much and waste product. I’ll definitely repurchase!

Have you tried this face mask? What did you think? Any face mask you are loving lately? Let me know!
